I know of a channel that was very happy to see their theory proven correct this episode, hah. It does raise even more questions though, assuming Maomao's hypothetical is right. Like how the switch happened, and why it was allowed if the Emperor and/or his wife were aware of it. Looks like after what happened, Lishu finally has 1 (one) (uno) (いち) lady-in-waiting that she can trust and rely on. How wonderful. Now we just need to nuke the rest of them and bring in some decent human beings in their place.

From Maomao's hypotheticals, the realization could've been after the empress dowager's son died, so maybe there's no choice. He's part of the bloodline either way. I was thinking about how you could no notice how it's not your baby lol, but if they're of the same blood they could look like each other. And yeah... I'm glad Lishu's got one lady-in-waiting to rely on... but I'm waiting for said lady-in-waiting to grow a spine and stand up for Lishu! Then again, she's also the taster so idk about her lifespan haha
