Good thing for Joyce and Murray that PB came in glass jars back then. Couldn't break and use them like that anymore. (Most switched to plastic jars in the late '80s.)

Personally I like the separate storylines. The Hawkins gang is the dream team though. I'm not a huge fan of Mike or Jonathan... they don't really bring much to the table outside of being supportive boyfriends... so I'm glad they are off in the lesser storyline. I know it seems like a lot of storylines... but I feel like there's only really 3. Russia / Hopper and Joyce & Murray have a connective thread; California crew road trip to find El & El recovering memories & powers are connected; and Jason and Eddie side plots connect to the main Hawkins thread. So I just see it as the Hawkins circle, the Russia circle, and the El circle. For me, I think they struck gold with Eddie. He's got a great on-screen presence... every moment he's on is so genuinely appealing. The perfect contradiction to the 'satanic panic' hysteria that swept the time period.
