When Klaus said u set my course he’s talking about that even after Esther and Mikael emotionally and physically tortured him he was still ever to find love again for a thousand years. In the TVD episode titles Klaus u see Elijah caring for Kathrine when Klaus only wanted her to break the curse Elijah helped Esther and Mikael place on Klaus Klaus said love makes u weak brother. Klaus said it makes u weak cuz of the way Aurora destroyed him made him weak with just words. Also another thing Elijah compelled him to even say the treatment him parents gave him growing up was right and how they stripped away his werewolf side was right and Esther shunning him not loving her son anymore was right. This is why I say Klaus is the better sibling and Elijah is walking and talking POS Klaus killed her cuz it took him being turned and making his first kill activating the curse to see Esther let a man who isn’t his father beat on him from the age of seven she kept him from his real father who would have loved him better than both Esther and Mikael Klaus snapped he finally realized his horrible human life didn’t have to happen but Esther made it happen.
