This episode was meant to be from Xander's perspective but also a parody of itself. The show is poking fun at itself with the over-the-top dialogue between the characters amidst another apocalypse which they don't really show because it's not the point of the episode. It's one most fans either really love or dislike. I personally disliked when I first saw it but now I kind of enjoy it and appreciate that they were trying to do something outside the box. It's still not up there with my favorites though, but I liked seeing Faith.
