St. Lucifer- First... thank you so, so much once again for another fantastic reaction for Lucifer! I really had fun watching this episode again with you, as I've enjoyed all the rest of your reactions for Lucifer so far too. And I really enjoy this episode a lot. :) This episode is a lot of fun and entertaining, even if it may play through at a slower pace than most others. I enjoy the overall case and the twist, when Chloe makes us as the audience think that she believes the wife's lawyer is the one who killed his client, when it turns out to be the wife all along, and all for greed because she believed she deserved their foundation's money, and not the children in Haiti, whom the foundation was created to help. Just because her husband made her feel humiliated upon falling in love with another man, but mostly because he was a good man who wanted to give everything he could to these children, instead of remaining a sports star and giving her everything she wanted in life. Vanessa really is a despicable woman, and I'm so happy that by the end... Lucifer and Chloe are able to figure out who the real killer is, then work together to take her down. Little does Chloe know that Vanessa had tried to kill Lucifer first. Now... I love that by being shot by Vanessa and not dying as Lucifer realizes he is still immortal, his near death experience allows for Lucifer to come up with a theory involving Chloe. Which brings me to my absolute favorite moment within this episode... When Lucifer goes to see Chloe in the end and talks with her while he tests his theory behind his back so she can't see him cut himself across the palm of his hand. And of course... while he survives being shot multiple times in his chest without the slightest wound, up in his apartment with Chloe nowhere around him, he then is suddenly bleeding again the moment he's near Chloe a short time later, once he slices the palm of his hand with his blade, And Lucifer now knows that the mystery behind him being able to be hurt sometimes and other times not, mysteriously has to do with Chloe being near him and could very possibly have to do with his feelings for her. Absolutely brilliant! I absolutely love this moment, and more so... I love when Chloe tells Lucifer that he makes her feel vulnerable because she feels like she can be her true self around him when she isn't completely open around anyone else. Especially when Lucifer is who she sees to be his true self, which she very much likes. And then he softly answers that she makes him vulnerable in return. And while Lucifer actually means that he's physically vulnerable around her because he can be hurt when she's close by him, I also feel that a part of him means she makes him feel vulnerable because Chloe brings out a side of him he has barely begun to understand and that he doesn't know is inside of him. Because she brings out the good in him. Very intriguing... and I absolutely love it!!! And this revelation also reveals that Malcolm shooting Lucifer wouldn't have worked, without Chloe being close by. Which is also very interesting, because now it's clear that even Amenadiel doesn't understand what's going on with Lucifer's immortality. And while it's great that his plan has failed, it worries me all the more because it makes Amenadiel an even greater threat to Lucifer, given he now has to come up with a new plan upon becoming more determined than ever to send Lucifer back to Hell as their Father commanded of him to do. Also... I love the scene between Lucifer and Malcolm as well, which is my other favorite moment throughout this episode. Malcolm is a scumbag and deserves to rot in Hell for sure. But I also really love how Lucifer is able to protect himself as he talks Malcolm out of killing him, by smoothly offering him his Pentecostal coin that would allow anyone with it in their possession to travel to or from Hell. Lucifer reveals he was planning to use it in case he chose to return to Hell one day should he need to escape Earth, in spite of him still refusing to do so and fearing to return to Hell. Lucifer then tells Malcolm he could use it instead to escape Hell when he winds up there again once he dies one day, which he will inevitably do. This moment between Lucifer and Malcolm is phenomenal! Malcolm is a fantastic adversary and I love how not even Lucifer's Devil face frightens him any longer since his own time of being tortured in Hell. And this is definitely not good. And then... I very much love the look on Lucifer's face once Malcolm takes the coin from him. A look of uneasiness and dread upon losing his one escape from Hell should he be forced back to Hell again at some point. He's very shaken for sure. And we also see fear upon him losing his coin, as well as seething anger upon his face and in his eyes because he hates that he has now helped a bad guy to escape the punishment he so justly deserves. Something that Lucifer hates. Just you wait for what's to come! Always pay close attention to Lucifer's facial expressions. They say a lot, especially because Lucifer struggles so much with understanding emotions. Especially when it comes to his own emotions. His facial expressions and his eyes tend to say much more than he says in words. And I absolutely love it! :) And regards to whether or not Lucifer could be fluffing the truth about the coin's power to help him escape from Hell... For one... Lucifer doesn't lie. But more so... I believe that the look on Lucifer's face the moment he gives it to Malcolm tells us that Lucifer is very much telling Malcolm the truth about its power. If it didn't have the ability to help a damned soul escape from Hell, Lucifer wouldn't be so worried about losing it. Besides... Lucifer makes deals that give the other person exactly what they ask for, and he never breaks a deal. This is very much a big part of who he is. He's a Devil of his word. And lastly... I really love how Dan is able to escape and immediately rushes to LUX in order to try to warn Lucifer about Malcolm coming to kill him in spite of his dislike for the man. Dan has made some big mistakes, but he does genuinely try to be a good man and he does try to do the right thing by coming to protect Lucifer, even if he would have been too late were Lucifer not immortal. Although... I do believe that Dan isn't so much worried about Lucifer like you thought, but he's more so worried about himself. If Malcolm would have been the one to shoot him and Lucifer had died, then Malcolm would have then planted the gun with Dan's fingerprints at the scene, and probably would have called his buddies at their precinct to tip them off to Lucifer being in danger. And had the cops arrived in that moment with Dan kneeling next to Lucifer's body and with the gun nearby, Malcolm's frame job would have been complete. Dan would be seen to be guilty and the other cops probably wouldn't have believed Dan. So... I really think Dan was more worried about himself getting in trouble in this moment upon finding Lucifer dead, and not so much because Lucifer was almost dead. I hope this makes sense. But with all of this being said... I've actually really grown to like Dan more and more with every episode this season. Especially in this one. Overall.. this is a great episode! More of the mystery behind Lucifer's vulnerability is revealed, and the stakes with Malcolm have been raised. I love it! Thank you so much once more, my friends!! I can't wait for more Lucifer and your reactions for these final two episodes because they are absolutely phenomenal episodes!! Until then... :) Sincerely, Heidi
