Love your reactions! The one thing that will be explained later in much more detail is the ring.....not spoiling. Makes sense after you find out. That is all I will say. I look forward to your future reactions!!

Well if you think about it the ring thing makes sense, they had been telling us since season one how those rings were made by Emily, and how Jonathan Gilbert went mad after some years, all magic has a price, to cheat death is an unbalance of nature and witches never allow that, trough the entire season we have seen how it takes a lot of time now for Rick to come back to life even Damon told him that he should check his ring. I think you only go mad if you die a lot of times with the ring and Alaric has died more times than Jeremy.

It's so funny I am writing this sort of timeline for this plot and can't believe how many things I hadn't noticed. I have always liked that TVD is a show and not tell show. Meaning for the most part they don't spell shit out for us until they've given us every opportunity to figure it out on our own. They trust the audience. Season 3 is an intricately woven web with different pieces that are SEEMingly unrelated. I'll do the connect the dots post after you guys watch 3x20.

In this show everything has consequences, so you cannot cheat death without consequences, and Alaric died way too many times, and you didn't notice but since last time he died he is being acting strange, off, not as the usual Alaric.He went to the council to protest, to be included in the council because they are not protecting people, if you remember. He's wife was turned into a vampire, his girlfriend was killer by a vampire. So deep down he has many reasons to hate vampires and the people from the council that do covers ups and sites with supernatural creature, being hypocritical. It makes a lot of sense, actually.

I love how 5 different people can watch this show and everyone has a different take on it. That is what is interesting in watching different reactors. The first time I watched it made me mad because at the time I really liked Ric. You got me laughing watching your reactions...lol...but it will make more sense in the next 4 episodes.

This is not my favorite episode by any means but it has a couple really good moments. "A squirrel asked me my name today, I told him it was Joe. That lie will haunt me..." Stefan wanting to eat the wait staff ,Damon feeling self righteous and promising to help Stefan learn to control is blood lust are both great moments as well.

its not just the ring it 's how many times you die with it on! So Ric has died SO MANY times and Jeremy only ONCE. The ring was made by a witch and remember how they are always saying everything has a balance, so the balance with using the ring to cheat death is that it can eventually change you.

I really like this episode cz it has some great moments. Stefan and Damon had amazing ones. Funny as well the brothers with Rebekah at the bar was fun. But Damon helping Stefan and saying he’s all he’s got that whole scene was so dam sweet I love them so much. About the ring Ric’s died with it many times and as Meredith said how many times can it change him. There is a consequence for everything u can’t cheat death it’s not a normal ring. Remember Jeremy faced that too when Bonnie got him back to life. The consequence for him was he could see ghosts. It may seem stupid right now but it will all make sense further on. But I must say the way u guys laughed made me laugh so hard I still can’t stop laughing looking at that end part specially hearing Grace laugh 😆 I had a great time 🤪

I see why it seems to be funny, especially because you were so convinced in the Meredith or ghost or something direction. I think I thought it was coming out of nowhere too, when I first watched it. But now it makes sense to me and I also see the hints that have been there this season with Ric and the ring, they did talk about it loosing it's power or working strange more than once, foreshadowing whats to come. I actually really like Meredith line "how many times can you die before it changes you". It shows once more how everything has consequences. If you cheat death in which way ever it's not for free. Alaric died something around 4 or 5 times with the ring saving him I think, Jeremy just once if I remember correctly (he also died with Bonnie bringing him back, but he got other consequences for that though). Also when I watched it for the first time I hated this storyline, I remember thinking after this episode "No, I don't want Alaric to change", because he's been one of my fave characters since season 1. One last thing: I actually was really surprised you didn't catch up on it being Alaric, because you usually see where something is going from a mile away and I've seen a couple of people who did think it was Alaric sometimes even before this episode. But I truly enjoyed that you guys for once didn't see something coming XD It was so funny how you were hating on Meredith the whole time (I might have been when I watched it as well, because I didn't see it being Ric either... also maybe just because I didn't want it to be him) Have a great day
