Well Victor.. that's the point. You aren't supposed to "like" her for what she did. She had plenty of reasons to kill Wayne but none are excuses. The show isn't trying to redeem her and she isn't seeking redemption because she doesn't think she needs it. She didn't apologize to "Wayne" ('in' Sawyer) She's not sorry. Not everyone can be 'good'. Hell I found it refreshing that they didn't go with some redemption crap, it's cliche and boring. These characters are LOST and that's not just geographically. While some may just be lost, some are lost causes. As far as kissing Jack, this is classic Kate. Running from her problems. Currently her problem is she cares about Sawyer and doesn't think she should cause Sawyer is a murderer and a con man (which somehow in my mind is far better than a wife beating, sexually desiring his own kid, drunk piece of shit like Wayne) My theory is that she thinks she *should* like someone like Jack but she doesn't OR she does like him but doesn't think that she is good enough for him.

P.S. The horse thing is NOT representing Wayne to her. The horse in the road originally was what led to the accident and her getting free from the Marshall. Maybe it symbolizes a second chance. I'm not really sure though
