Please Everyone refrain from Originals spoilers. Honestly just about any information on it at this point is a spoiler, you guys just are better off not knowing but I promise we will tell you when the time is right to watch it.

Vampire diaries literally goes 6th gear from ep 8....its really crazy watching this again with yall...the mythological is also about to get really good

As far as the curse goes, the reason they just gave as to why the vampires want to break the curse is , basically if werewolves break it then they can turn whenever they want or not at all...which would be bad cause supposedly a werewolf bite is lethal to vampires. That is what they said. I was confused to when I first watched this . I will just say...have faith it will all make sense eventually.

The curse is actually two curses, The sun one that is for vampires wich makes them slaves to the sun and the moon one that is for werewolves that makes them slaves to the moon. If the vampires break the curse first they keep the werewolves from doing their onwn and make them slaves to the moon forever. If the werewolves do it first the vampires are kept slaves to the sun forever. So basically if werewolves break it first they will be more powerful than vampires and could kill them more easily. They all need the moonstone because is one of the ingredients to break the curse like a vampire a werewolve and a witch are too.

After knowing the backstory of Katherine, it makes sense why she became a person who would do anything to survive especially after the people she cared about most turned her back on her just because she had a baby out of wedlock She was a good person. She was just a 17 year old girl when all this happened to her. Same age as Elena. She was the first doppelganger. It's not like she had anyone to warn her like Elena does. Even after her family disowned her, she went back for them only to find them dead. She's not heartless. Not to mention she had to run from for 500 years. If anyone of them were in that situation, they probably would've done anything to get out alive.

OH I'm not sure why I didn't post this in my original comment cause it's a HUGE reason why, We are told that if vampires break it they will be able to walk in the sun.

Also if you start watching the originals you should watch at the end of season 4 since the storyline kinda lines up together.

RIght, they asked because they were not aware that even knowing that would be a spoiler for them and is why I wrote the comment I did about not telling them. I cannot explain why it's a spoiler without further spoiling things but I have faith that if you think about it for a minute, you'll understand. *shrugs* it is what it is and you aren't even the first person to do it. It is inadvertent BUT It's just like all the people saying in season 1 "Oh Damon is better next season" for all these guys knew he could have died and not even made it to season two... so it's a spoiler. It would take any fear out of the situations (like Damon being vervained and then getting locked in the burning basement in 1x22) that character is put in cause they know he survives at least til season 2 cause people just told them he is in it and 'better'.
