Elena is almost always annoying in such situations when she thinks she can help but she's just a liability....also that damon and Alaric scene is just soo good lol...there is a lot about Stefan's past that is actually pretty crazy...it's mostly there in season 3

Grace, I'm loving that lipstick shade. I love Stefan now but I admit that I found his character to be very cliche up until this point in the show. I love how they start to flesh out his character more in the next few episodes. Victor, I fast forward through all scenes with Matt. He bores me to death so this will be like the only comment I ever make about him lol but I agree with both of your assessments of the hugging Elena thing. They have been friends since they were toddlers and he's only really been dating Caroline for like a month. It had nothing to do with him 'not being over her'.
