tl;dr - The poll results are in, Shizu's up next!

This week's image

I've been trying to keep a decent amount of new animations coming for the game recently, mostly because these days I find at least these shorter loops aren't too hard to add and I like the way they enhance certain scenes.

Extra angles seem to enhance the effect of them a lot too, which is good because they (sometimes, not always) don't require much extra work.

Poll results

The poll from last week seemed pretty conclusive - Shizu should come first! Mika will get her ending soon enough, either way. It does make sense that Shizu would get an ending first anyway, being part of the original three characters.

Shizu was originally not one of the starting characters

You might be interested to know that I originally conceived Shizu as a character who'd be more in Mika's position - a sort of "bonus" character sighted around the game spying on Shuji until you unlock her.

I still think that might have been an interesting way to use her in the story, but when starting out development I found that the other character ideas I had were much sketchier. Perhaps it would have worked if Shizu and Mika had been swapped, but I think the way it is now is pretty logical. Also, I hadn't come up with Mika yet at that point...

What do you think of the animation? Do you think I made the right decision by making Shizu one of the starting three instead of Mika? Let me know in the comments below!

Shizu is a very solid character. I love Mika, her personality in particular, her design too, even if her tan is a bit strong lol. But I like Shizu even more, it works very well in the end so you probably made the right choice. The animation here is very nice, love her breasts with the giggle physics.

Always happy to see animations in scenes. As far as Shizu being one of the original 3 I can see how having her be kinda in the background makes a lot of sense for her character, but I think her oddness and overall character really interplays well with Emi and Nabuko during the initial playthrough

BBBen

I think that's what sold me on the idea that she needed to be in the starting three - the fact that a lot of interesting interactions with the others seemed to result from her being around.

Cronshaw

Yeah ultimately with multiple playthroughs it’s not as big a deal, but I think Shizu is probably better for hooking new players narratively and character wise

BBBen

Mika's probably a bit too positive to create enough tension.
