tl;dr - I've been implementing Masami's voice acting, as well as designing various combat graphics, including an overdue patron request.


This week's image - Fumiow!

This is the new image when you revive Fumi using an animal totem in battle - there's an equivalent version for each of the maids with their animal form appearing and bringing them back into the fight.


I now have images for all three maids, both for using the animal totems as a special attack and also for using them to revive a downed maid (like a phoenix down in Final Fantasy). I'm pretty happy with how they all turned out. I decided to give them not just some morphs to look a little different, but also props and outfit changes. I considered showing you the full outfit for Fumiow or Puppiko this time, but I figured you might prefer to see a girl completely naked. :)


Masami voice acting


As I've received a lot of Masami's voice acting in recent weeks (I got some more this week) I have been largely working on implementing it into the game. In particular I've needed to add voice acting to all the existing plot scenes in the game that feature Masami, as well as her romantic sub-plot and her moods/flirting system (where "talk"ing to her is particularly important).


I've coded all of the lines I've received, although I've not quite edited all those lines yet (I have about 20 left to edit from what I've got). I will probably not finish the Masami sex scene until I've received all of the sex scene lines, and at the moment I've only got the first phase of the sex scene, not the second.


Combat graphics


One of my big remaining tasks before the game is to finish up the combat graphics. Ideally I'd like to have them more or less done by either the next alpha release or the one after. I've made various new combat graphics this week, from the animal totems mentioned above, to some spell casting images, to the gooey clothes scenes that I discuss below. I have some decisions to make about what kind of designs I'm going to use and how much I'm going to animate, but I suppose you'll be seeing a lot of the results soon.


Gooey clothes


Based on a patron request from like... five months ago (sorry!) I have finally implemented the possibility in combat for the girls to get their clothing dissolved by the corrosive goo of the slime monsters. I had trouble with this idea (and I took so long to get around to finishing it) because it was going to be really difficult to have the maids disappear for a few turns to get dressed again; I would have had to change the system of how monsters target the maids, as well as some of the timed spell effects. The other thing that delayed me was that I just didn't like the images I designed for it.


Anyway, I have now tweaked the idea a little so that the slime only dissolves their clothes once the battle is over. Also, while the pics aren't my favorites that I've made, I think they're a lot better than they were now. This is kind of a small feature, I guess, but it's the little details that make the game fun. This will be in the next alpha.
