It's the end of the year and I feel like taking stock.

  • Over the December/January period a year ago I launched the Mika content. At the time I thought it might be a little early, since I wasn't quite ready, but I decided it's often a good idea just to jump in and figure it out so you can actually force some progress. It's ultimately taken me all year to get that stuff sorted out! (But in early 2022 her sex scene and follow up stuff is coming!)
  • There was a bunch of new Hirai interactive stuff, by popular demand. These built on some of the similar scenes in 2020 so there's now quite a bit in the game.
  • The next big feature was the "Shizu's Videos" hub scene. While a little tricky to market and explain, I think this is a strong concept with a lot of content and I'll be able to continue to expand it in the future.
  • Perhaps the most exciting improvement for me was that I finally got a solution to the "NOW LOADING" stability issue with PAT on loading the apartment scene (and others). For all the work I (and Conash) put in trying to solve it, the solution was ultimately very simple, but it's made me far, far more confident in where the game is going.
  • The next big feature was the inclusion of threesome dating and scenes! I'm very happy to have that as a playable feature in the game now, even if we have only two pairings so far (Emi+Shizu and Nobuko+Shizu). Other combos will be coming in the future, but this year I've really embraced the idea of including the start of a big piece of content, so I can expand it later when I have good ideas.
  • In that spirit, I decided to create version 1 of the "shops" map! While there's not much to it yet, I've always wanted to have an additional use for money in the game and the scenes I've already been able to include for the sex toys are, I think, working out quite nicely.

I have to say that at times I've felt like I was going in circles this year, as planned elements took longer than I intended. I also really planned to have Lord Goblin in a public release by now. Still, looking back both projects have had major progress and hopefully I've positioned them well for 2022.

Guess I underestimated how many people are here for Hirai stuff.

Oh, yeah, it's definitely what a lot of the audience is after. I do try and make the game worthwhile for people who aren't interested in it, though.

Still almost none of it would be accessible if that damned stability bug wasn't fixed, but I guess it's not a sexy topic so few people voted for it.

And a lot of the stuff people are probably voting for is in Shizu's videos, but that's kind of hard to sell as a feature for some reason, as I mentioned.

I remember the first time I got an ending and restarted to take a new path... and all the sudden Mika showed up in the hospital. I literally had to stop everything and just sit there for a bit before I could continue. That was my first time realizing this game was really something new.
