tl;dr - I worked on character and body part descriptions all week, did a little bit of image rendering and found some extra time to write for my side project Stupid Cupid. Also, I'm planning to get a cheap laptop so I can work while on the move.

This week's image

I admit I went digging through older images to try and track down one that might actually work here. I can't remember all the things I've showed in updates and I have to be careful not to show you everything. Also, if I've already included a picture in a release version of PAL for $10+ patrons then it seems like a dull thing to put in an update. Maybe that's an unreasonable standard to hold the updates to, but I do like to show you something new without showing spoilers. A difficult balancing act. Oh, and the Mother's Day image I posted yesterday is one of my favorite of the images I've made, so it's a little hard for me to top that right now.

Instead, I've just put up a simple picture I made this week of Kimiko. I actually did a number of other renders this week but they were mostly a mixture of a) spoilers and b) pictures that I know some players would prefer not to see. Therefore this is a rather unremarkable shot of Kimiko from the lake day, but I feel the game needs these. It's actually a bit of a pity that because of the lighting/reflections you can't really see that her nipples are erect. Oh, well.

Character and body part descriptions

It might seem like a minor thing but one of my major projects this week was to write up and program descriptions of characters and their body parts. Hopefully a good number of players like to examine the girls and their body parts in all their different outfits, because now you (mostly) can.

You might remember that I actually wrote up many of those descriptions on my holiday, but I had to type them up from my notebook and, more importantly, program them into the game so they crop up at the right time. It may not seem like a big deal but this is sometimes something that often feels like the big pain in the ass, boring job that I can't get finished (in PAF it took me ages to actually finish this stage; I didn't wrap it up until near the final release day). It's taken me all damn week on these so far, and there's actually still some more to write up, so it's no small task!

Oh, by the way, I added in the power to examine legs and hair, which is something that people have often requested. I didn't do it in past just because programming body parts is a boring hassle, but I've done it this time to make PAL a deluxe game (I hope).

Planning to get a laptop

I work on a desktop PC. This is better for me because I need rendering power, and it means I have a nice, big screen for doing artwork. Plus I like playing games. :) I've never really needed a laptop before, but now I'm thinking I would like to be able to write and program wherever I go - even if I travel overseas for a couple of weeks I want to be able to block out a couple of hours each day and keep working on the game(s). Therefore I'm going to get a cheap, lightweight laptop and make sure that even when I'm on a holiday from my day job I'll be able to keep working on game development. I won't be able to render pictures with it but I'll be able to write text and program in ADRIFT, which is easily enough functionality to make major strides of progress no matter where I am.

Did some more writing on Stupid Cupid

Again, this isn't really something that's digging into my PAL production time, it's just something that I play around in when I don't have anything better to do or when I'm waking up in the morning. Anyway, I've done more writing for my game idea Stupid Cupid.

I intended to put up a post announcing the game project this week, but then I decided that it didn't feel like the right time yet. I am still just playing with the idea so I'll announce it more formally if/when I get a little further along.

I'm kind of developing it as part of the AIF mini-fest but I don't know if it's going to actually be finished in time to be released as part of that festival. I'm keeping it small but I'm still prioritizing PAL, so it may not get done any time soon. If not then Valentines Day next year would be a cool release time.

Something to say? Please say it! That's what the comments section is for!

I don't know if this is the right forum, but I was wondering would you ever go back to your crossworld series and add pics of the girls and scenes? I love janey jones and her mother. Thanks been following your work for awhile so just tracking. I would be happy with the characters you have now. Thanks again

BBBen

Sure, I've considered it. I took a bit of a shot at making some character models for the girls some months ago but I think the general opinion in the audience was that they weren't quite what people pictured in their heads. You can see them here if you're curious: https://www.patreon.com/posts/little-bonus-3318351 I appreciate the support, by the way. :) It's nice that some people remember Crossworlds. If I can come up with some good designs then maybe a re-release would be good at some point with new images and a rebuild so they'll run properly in modern systems.

Your crossworld series is what got me here. Then PAL and Let me In.I am holding off playing your demos just because I want the whole story.Yep I remember those, and I loved them. I think that they are very sexy and the models spark my imagination. Well thanks for the talk. Keep on creating and I will keep supporting. Love to see you go back and revamp. After you complete this baby.

It's true that your "mother's day" pic was one of your better one. The crossworlds pics was cute to see, but needed some work, you are more good with aiko models for now.

BBBen

Yeah, I think I would need to have another go to try and make the Crossworlds characters work. They looked particularly weird when I rendered them in Iray.
