tl;dr - I've been programming for the Mika update.

This week's images

I started working on these just because I thought they would look nice, then realised they were pretty similar to some pictures I've made in past for another scene. It's not a big problem because I can still use these and I think they look nice.

This scene probably won't be in the game for a while, but maybe I'll feel inspired and throw it together for one of those "minor" releases in the future.

Programming

Basically my main task this week has been working on the programming for the Mika stuff, in particular making the apartment scene work with her in it. I had written out a paragraph talking about how it's difficult but I'm making good progress; unfortunately this afternoon I tested what I made and it's produced some rather nasty mystery bugs. I'm worried about this because I don't really know how it could be going wrong this way. It's very hard to check what's wrong, the scene is very complicated and I don't really have any ideas for what could be doing it right now, other than that maybe there are serious problems with how I set it up.

Hopefully it's more fixable than it seems... I'm going to talk to my some-time programming helper about this soon and see what we can figure out.
