Update - Hirai's bad beach behaviour (Patreon)

tl;dr - There's technical changes coming for the game, but that means work and testing for me. Also, I've done some work on a future project that I still can't talk about.

Since the previous Hirai content was well received, I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of Hirai getting up to mischief in possible scenes from the beach day. These only trigger, of course, if you let Hirai get far enough with the ladies, which is completely optional.

The beach day's not coming up right away - I need to introduce both Hirai and Mika, which I think will take separate updates, but it's big enough that you can probably expect the beach day to be a whole update unto itself, once it's finished.

Technical updates to the game are coming

Recently the engine developers have been working a bit more on VN Maker and there's a new stable patch about to come out. I'm not sure if it will work for PAT, because when I tried in past to migrate to the beta version of this patch the game wouldn't start, but hopefully it will. It fixes a few small things, including that weird stiffness to the clicking and also the customisable UI. I've also managed to address a couple of other bugs thanks to fixes provided that aren't from the patch, including one bug that was meaning loaded save games in scenes with choices would hang instead of giving you the choice you're supposed to get.

There is one more fix I'm trying out, but it's currently untested and I don't hold much hope for it, honestly. It's a suggested possible option for fixing the notorious "now loading" crash bug. We'll see - I'll try to get some feedback somehow from someone who's getting this bug and see if this fixes it for them, but my inability to find testers to help with the issue has been extreme so far.

What I'm concerned with for all this is that with all these technical changes, the game might need some significant testing and patching soon. I haven't even added the new Hirai stuff I plan to add for the next update yet, and there's this other stuff to worry about on top of that. Hopefully it won't delay the release.

Work for a future project

I've got a team project coming down the pipeline that I will eventually reveal as a separate game, not part of this campaign. It's going pretty well now and this week I spent a fair bit of work time on it, just organising and preparing things for other people to work on. It's exciting, but right now I can't really talk that much about it because I want it to be able to present a really good public face when I first reveal it. I've been working on it on and off for a while and I've mentioned previously that I have a future thing in store to announce eventually, but I mention it again now just because it's been quite active lately.
