Today's image
Rio licks the face of naughty Kimiko!
This image requires a little bit of explanation on two levels.
a) If you're wondering what's actually going on here, you'll find that the domineering and shamelessly sexual Rio has a habit of putting people in their place by licking their faces. It's a violation of personal space and boundaries designed to show her own dominance.
b) The black circle around the picture indicates that, yes, it's a voyeur moment. The game will have some spying scenes like the previous games (in particular PAF) had. In fact I'm hoping to use this content in a slightly more complete and interesting way. Those of you with alpha access should probably get a hint of how this will play out in the next version, although I don't know exactly whether I will have implemented it properly by then.
I did have this picture done in 3Delight and it already looked pretty good, but I redid it in Iray and I think it turned out well.
My games are coming to Kimochi, the adult games distribution platform!
Starting with Let Me In, which is available right now, I'm putting up my games on the new adult games distribution program called Kimochi. Basically it's designed to be like Steam, but for adult games! It's pretty exciting for me, and although it doesn't effect you a whole bunch it will hopefully enlarge my audience (without me having to distract myself from working on the games). Also, this could be a new download source for you if you want to get my games that way. Hosting has become a bit of an issue in recent years, and Patreon only hosts files up to 100mb.
Anyway, I started with Let Me In because it's a simple, stand-alone game that is fairly easy to explain, seems like it matches pretty well with a lot of other popular adult games around today, and it wouldn't take long to upload. Also, it already had the Patreon links in it and stuff. I'll be adding Super PAC and PAF just as soon as I've patched in some notices about this Patreon site, and naturally PAL will also appear on there.
Casting of Masami
I've cast the part of Masami this week! Or rather I've recast it, since the first actress fell through. I'm very pleased with the new actress, however, and I actually think she might be better than the first one, so this might be a happy accident.

I hope you agree this is very good news. Oh, by the way, if you listen to the previews in those samples I just linked she's often working off a stilted script, and affecting a cadence that is a little slow and awkward for the sake of those recordings. In PAL she'll be in character as Masami. :)
Voice editing
In order to insert text into the game I need to choose which voiced lines should go into the game, and insert the HTML tags in the right places. This means that simply formatting text becomes a process of voice editing, during which I pick out which takes from the actors I want to use, I edit takes in my sound editing software for volume and other small corrections, I add sound effects and do other little things. Ultimately the simple act of formatting text becomes one of the most important and time consuming parts of the game development.
I've been doing this for Kimiko this week, and one little thing I've been happy about is that I've been able to snip out a number of spare moaning sections from unused takes, so I should be able to pepper them into some other scenes to increase the amount of sexy Kimiko moaning throughout the game. The actress did a good job of getting into the scene, I think, so her pleasure sounds pretty genuine.
I don't want to include spoilers, but I attached a little bit of spare moaning that I'll probably find a place for somewhere in the game. You can play that voice file above.
Kimiko sex scene programming
Otherwise it's mostly been miscellaneous work this week - programming, text editing, a little bit of writing, designing side puzzles and working on images. All important stuff, but only incremental progress on anything in particular. Most of all I've been trying to get Kimiko's sex scene programmed, with the new version of the sex scene gameplay that I'm using in this game. It won't feel really different to what you're used to, but there are a couple of subtle differences that I think make the gameplay more interesting and fun. I might go into more detail about that in a future update.
I've been surprised at how much work this is taking (it didn't tend to in the past - the writing was the tricky part) but it's all rather more complicated these days with all the multimedia and more sophisticated gameplay.
Computer update
This week I had to send my computer back into the shop again. It still hadn't been properly fixed. Anyway, this time I feel like they're trying a lot harder - they've got a more experienced and seemingly thorough technician working on it, and I'm really hoping this time it might work out okay. The last time I put it in I feel like the guy who worked on it didn't take it very seriously, but maybe it'll be different this time.
At time of writing I haven't yet got it back, because they seem to have been putting in more work on it this time around.
Next week
Things are moving pretty clearly now. I don't know if I've yet gone 'over the hump' of game development, but I think I'm at least on the downward slope of the hump, if you follow me. The combat system is largely done and fairly bug-free right now, and so it's mostly now a matter of doing a lot of relatively easy stuff.
That said, I don't know what kind of progress I'll be reporting next week - I'll just try to make sure that I make progress, as always. :) Oh, and it'll probably be an Iray Iku pic next week.
