tl;dr - I've been adding in shower scenes for Emi and Nobuko to pad out the release; also, I've just about finished the big Shizu scene I've been working on.

This week's image

I made this image last night hoping the idea would prove to be a nice easy trick to implement, but as it turned out it was a little more complicated and I probably didn't do it in the best way. It doesn't really matter, though, as it wasn't too hard or time consuming and the end result was pretty decent, I think.

My holiday is cancelled

I was really looking forward to taking a trip in early April to Japan and Thailand for a few days each. It really helps me to have a way to just completely get away from everything and experience something very new every now and then, and it gives me something to look forward to. As you've probably guessed, though, the Covid-19 outbreak has got in the way of that. I'm not going now and I'm just trying to get as much of my money back as possible.

I was actually trying to save money on my travel this year and not spend too much; it's very frustrating if even that limited budget gets spent without me being able to enjoy it. I think I should be able to get about 2/3 of it back at least, as the accommodation is still refundable and one of my flights was cancelled by the airline. I'm still not sure about the other two flights, though, as they're on different airlines and my travel insurance has a pandemic exception. Still, things could have been much worse.

Adding in Nobuko and Emi shower scenes

Long story short, I finished writing and making the images for the Shizu scene that's been holding me up recently. It's a very long scene, so it took more work than I would have liked, and I really should have broken it up into several parts, because I don't like it being paced that way. So I'm not entirely happy with it, but it'll be done soon (hopefully you guys won't be as unhappy with it as I have been...). I also was hoping to have voice for it, but sadly the VA has run into problems with her living arrangements right as I needed these lines done, so they'll be delayed for a while. These things happen, unfortunately; the voice lines will have to come later when she's able to record.

I felt like working on something else as well, though, particularly as (as I talked about last week) the bug fix we developed hasn't solved the bug issue and I'm going to have to put out a version without music in the apartment that will therefore run for the people who have stability problems. There are a number of changes in the release, but I wanted to put a bit more content in to really make me feel good about putting it out.

Therefore I've made a couple of new (smaller) interactive scenes accessible from the conversation menus of Emi and Nobuko, after they've been romanced. Well, I say smaller, but they each have at least a good amount of pictures to go with them. I've lately been feeling that I should embrace the fact that I can make a lot of pictures relatively quickly and just cram more in to improve your experience as a player. It makes the file size a little bigger but it doesn't seem to affect loading times all that much and I know players often appreciate it.

These scenes were pretty fun to make and I think they're good; I haven't quite finished them but they'll be done soon.

Bug hunting

Just a quick update here - no real progress this week. Conash has had to work on other stuff and our grand solution didn't really pan out, so that's leaving me without a lot to show on that front this month. The one thing I can at least do, as I mentioned, is put out a version without the music in the apartment as an alternate for people who can't get the game to run properly. Thanks for your patience, everyone, and I'm sorry I can't announce anything more substantial than that just yet.

Bonus

As a little bonus, here's an alternate version of the above pic with clear glass, so you can get a better look. ;)

tl;dr - I hope none of you are being troubled by the outbreak! In the meantime, do shower scenes sound like fun? Let me know in the comments!

Showers seem like a good way to reduce the effort required for cleanup, and the apartment shower is quite roomy

That would be the most water efficient solution, providing the group can stay on focussed on the washing part and not other... activities.
