tl;dr - I've been working on adding more of Emi's story, which I'm feeling good about; also, the new computer's working out well (despite some ongoing issues setting up Daz Studio).

This week's image

I've had a version of this image in my archive for a while, but I've significantly redesigned it multiple times. As you can see, it's important to get Emi right, but there's also a lot going on in the background of the scene. What do you think? I'd love to hear some feedback on it!

Working on Emi's story

As for the subject of the image above, this is for Emi's story line. I've been working on that this week, both in image design and writing, and I'm feeling good about how it's going. I've known how that story was going to go for quite some time but the fact that I'm enjoying writing it anyway is pretty good news; that usually means it's turning out quite well. All that said, I'm probably still going to struggle over some of it - the old maxim with writing or game design is that you spend 10% of your time on 90% of the work, then 90% of your time on 10% of the work, so I expect the last touches of the scenes will really slow me down. :)

I'm planning to include some new Emi content in the next release, anyway. I'm also hoping to get the dating system done soon, but realistically I have to acknowledge that that's a large, difficult programming and design challenge that may take a little while. It's much easier for me to make new scenes than to design new systems, so while the next release will definitely have some (I think) cool new scenes and I will have done more work on the dating system, I don't know if the full gameplay will be functional yet.

The new computer is going well!

Based on the work I've been doing since I got the new PC, I have to say it is definitely much quicker and easier to work with this new hardware. It's really liberating, actually, because it just doesn't take long between coming up with an idea and making it a reality now. I can also more easily make multiple related images in the same scene now, because actually rendering something is not much of a commitment. It's great!

I can't give you definite estimates on the time differences yet, but before I got the new PC I was taking 2-5 hours on every Timelapse render, pretty much, since they have such detailed, complex environments. Now I kind of expect them to take around 15 minutes to an hour, depending on how much quality I'm trying to get from them. Pretty big difference, right?

Daz Studio is still causing me some issues, so I don't have everything fully set up yet, but I can at least produce images. I just need to find a way to get the Content Management System working again, which just isn't right now. Unfortunately, because my Internet still sucks, I haven't got all my software downloaded yet, either, but I at least have access to almost all of my Daz library, even if I can't sort through it very conveniently.

Like the picture? Does the new Emi content sound good? Are you getting frustrated waiting for the gameplay systems to be set up? Let me know in the comments!

I would appreciate it if Emi bent over very frequently please!

Due to the layout of the lights, it appears that the man in the top right is having a thought bubble somewhere just outside of the image. Also that orange marbley looking bar is messing with my perspective on the couch. Emi seems very flexible, almost in the shape of an N.

Not quite sure what you mean about the first point; the orange section is just a wraparound directly behind the bar, though. Emi is flexible, but it's not an unrealistic pose.
