Today's image This image is from when we first meet Masami – she's the figure getting changed behind the screen. I'll show the follow-up picture to this scene in the next update – it's a bit racier. Progress: more writing This week I've been working on finishing up some loose ends in the writing – most particularly endings – and also producing content for a request by an 'investor' level patron. This will take the form of an interactive sex scene in the harem victory suite, so that means the victory suite will actually be more fully stacked than I had originally planned! That's also involved designing some images for the scene. Even though this has slowed my transition to the programming stage, I'm enjoying adding more to the writing, and you'll get a bigger and hopefully better game when it comes out. Also, EFon, writer of the Pervert Action: Origins CYOA book, has been contributing some extra vignette scenes that you'll also get to see in the harem victory suite! These will explore extra combination endings that aren't available in the main game. I don't know how much he'll have time to chip in just yet, though. Oh, and I've made some new pictures. I like to mostly make pictures that I have a good idea for when I have the idea. The more mechanical, simple pictures tend to come later when I'm getting closer to finishing and I know which bits need an image just for the sake of consistency, or having enough illustration for a sex scene. Future plans So I wanted to tell you just a little bit here about some plans I have for the future after PAL. I won't go into a lot of details here, I'll just give you a sense of what I think is a good approach. My plan after the main writing stage: - Put up voice casting notices/cast voice actors/compile and send out scripts. This process involves a lot of waiting around, so while I do I'll be continuing with subsequent steps. I'll be doing this soon, I hope. - Program the game. Hopefully the combat system first, but we'll see. If I can get some semblance of the combat system up and running first I'll put it out to backers for balance testing. - Expect more half-finished alpha versions to become available to $10+ patrons around here, and onwards. - Finish writing loose ends and graphics. - Add graphics, sound and music (some of this is contingent on when I receive the graphics and voice acting from contributors). - Main beta testing of final release. I'm not sure how long this will take, but I normally expect a month of intense testing on a final release. Maybe the earlier alpha releases will have sped this up, or the complexity of the game might slow it down. - Release the game! - Talk a bit about my next project(s) to everyone, outlining my ongoing plans from there. I think it's a good idea to have something clear on the drawing board for everyone to see at all times. I do already have plans in my head for some future projects, and I've been workshopping some ideas with other writers. - Take a short break. I want to do this not because I'm lazy, but because I'll need to recharge my creative batteries a bit and fight writers block. Not only is it harder to keep working when I'm burned out, but the quality dips a lot as well, so taking a little break is good for the game all around. I may wind up still developing some ideas while I do this, of course. Right now I don't need a break, I'm just speaking from experience that I often do after a project. Oh, but I'll still be around and interacting with players, as that's important after a game release.
