Low key I think she is the actual catfish. The “catfish” arranged to meet at the place where the girl (whose picture the catfish used) just happens to work? If anything this catfish we person is definitely in her everyday life in order to know she worked there. But also the fact that this whole thing went down so positively also seems like the catfish plan actually worked. Maybe she changed her name and engaged under false pretenses to avoid the fake feeling of first dates from dating apps and give herself a semi legitimate shot at a real (if slightly fabricated) meet cute. But even still this was a very well done encounter. Which is probably why it seems a little low key sus.

I started talking to a romance scammer from Hong Kong. I was lonely and thought it would be cool to try to make her fall in love with me but I started to get hooked. She invited me to visit her and then 2 days before my flight she said she wouldn't meet me unless I "invested" 5k into a crypto coin So there I was in Hong Kong, unexpectedly having a really great time, and a friend suggested I should try a dating app while I was there. I'd never gone on one of the apps and the idea of going on a date with someone who would know we'd never meet again made it easier to try something new like that 6 months later, she's moving here, and whether it works out or not it's the best thing that's ever happened to me
