Magic: The Gathering Makes A Critical Role | Dice To Removal Episode 34

Roll a D20 and not a spindown, because Magic: The Gathering's new set is all about Dungeons & Dragons nostalgia, flavor and feels. What do The Professor and Pleasant Kenobi think about it? I described the spindown argument as arguing about the number of angels on the head of a pin. If you could manipulate it somehow, the amount you could would be nothing compared to what people can do with old-fashioned mana weaving or other bad shuffles or something you could already do with a d6 or a coin flip or however you determine who goes first... the list goes on. You know, when I used to go to FNM, people would roll spindowns to see who goes first. With all of the things, it's not worth getting into a tizzy over. I do think the use of the d20 it's a little clunky as presented. I don't think a literal reference to the real world action was needed to have D&D in a game any more than you would need a gamepad mechanic to have a Super Mario in a game. But it's certainly not a big deal. If it goes down as a mistake, it won't be for cheating but as a forgettable (realms) mechanic.
