It's crazy just how much the production values have dropped in the last few months. I have entire packs of jumpstart that were printed in greyscale. Yes the cards you got were "just commons" but what if they weren't? What if it was a super top tier extra special mega foil edition Omnath? The biggest problem right now is the variant products that are coming to market, the pressure is on from somewhere to put a new product into the game stores every other month, and the product is suffering because of it!

Miscuts tell me they're printing too much, too quickly.

The word on the street is that Hasbro has been squeezing their cash cow very, very hard in order to wring every last golden egg out of it. And why not? WOTC is one of their few remaining profitable divisions and we, the players are paying ridiculous amounts of money for what amounts to cardboard with gimmicks. The tsunami of 'special' product won't subside for a while, if ever.

Never underestimate the incompetence of management. If it makes sense, it is logical, it will make you more money in the long run, it will save time and money in the long run, don't do it! If it makes no sense to any one with common sense or logic, it will cost more money in the long run, do it, do it as quickly as possible, and get it done now DAMNIT!

I'm headed to my FLGS to buy some MTG but -only- for the reason to help keep the shop open. I'm going to throw it all the corner sealed and forget about it. Maybe it will be worth something 10+ years from now... if the game is still around then.
