Hahaha, I’m not talking about Masters 25, but the true Masters set that’s a masterstroke of genius, Standard Masters, or as Wizards of the Coast is calling it, Challenger Decks. Challenger Decks really are the equivalent of Standard Masters, offering players 4 decks that are very closely modeled on successful tournament builds which can be played right out of the box. They do not limit themselves based on the secondary market, giving us playsets of rares and even mythics all at an affordable MSRP, providing new and returning players an on ramp to standard, and giving the most played cards in standard such a sufficient reprint that prices will go down, cost of entry will decrease, and everyone can benefit. Truly a home run for Wizards of the Coast. Thank you, newly implemented Play Design team, for designing these for actual Magic players.

I'll be buying them all and bringing them to game night. It's fun to change it up a bit with decks we didn't build ourselves. Hopefully it does well and Wizards continues with these types of builds. Though I'll miss duel decks. These will have to do . Great video Prof.

I plan to buy at least 2 of these to play against each other for friends who want to play a game but don't have their own cards. Great stuff! I already have most of these cards myself though. lol

They are garage products in that 80% of them are going rotate out in September. So the cash value for them is going crash no matter what. This add value to dead cards and forced cards that aren't in this product to go up as investors drive the price up of the non included cards. I want see wizard make challenger decks that are made up mostly of the most current set. not a collection of cards who value is on the decline anyways.

Awesome video! I played from Ice Age to Mirrodin and returned for Ixalan I keenly feel the need for a way to grab something to play with at FNM. So far Limited and Draft have been my only hope. This episode looks like Challenger will do for standard what the Commander set has done for it 's format. Thanks for the quality videos and insightful timely messages!

I liked this video a lot. One thing that really impressed me was the "Standard Masters" box graphic. Did you make that? Or who does your graphics? In any case, it looks really good!

At 4:07, you are mirroring the facial expression and hand expression of the Inspiration art behind you. Is this a sign?
