MTG - The 5 BEST Preconstructed Commander Decks for Magic: The Gathering

What’s more, most of these commander decks contain a vast array of cards that have respectable financial value, or just are commander staples which makes upgrading the decks or building new commander decks using the pieces of these an acceptable and easy path for the player. Best of all, while power levels between the decks do vary, I maintain that there is no wrong answer when it comes to these commander precons. WHich one should I buy is a question i answer often with “Which one do you like the look and feel of? You can’t go wrong.” And I want to repeat that: You can’t go wrong. But still I am asked which are the best of the best, and so presented here are the top 5 commander decks you can purchase, based on power right out of the box. Note, these top 5 are all selling for above MSRP, some by a little, one by a lot, and I still encourage you to scour your local game stores and even online sellers to find those sweet deals of commander decks at 29 even 24.99 each, an amazing value every one of them. And with the Commander’s Anthology coming out in just a week, an expensive product with 4 of the classic commander decks in it plus a few other goodies, I thought I’d give a copy away to a subscriber. So if you’d like a free, brand new copy of the commander’s anthology all you have to do is be subscribed to this channel for a chance to win! How about you leave the financial "is it worth it" to your viewers in evaluating products, or at least do a separate "cost to value ratio ranking" and make the primary ranking budgetless? Bumping something from 1st to 5th/last because the secondary market is going crazy over it right now is ridiculous. If I want the best precon and it's twice the price of the second best, then that should be my choice. Also, remember that your viewers are from all over the world, and local prices may well be very different (making your content pretty much worthless in some situations). OTOH, how good a product is is (probably almost) unaffected by location.

Disagree. He acknowledges its power and where it should be, but he's looking out for the average Magic player. The Professor has unabashedly defended this person against overpriced/poor quality items for as long as I've been watching him. This video is no different. If you want to spike your EDH event, chances are this video told you nothing you didn't already know. The secondary market is going crazy over it because of scarcity. If he completely left out Breed Lethality, your criticism would be better received. Prof: I appreciate you being our "Tron."

Thank you for this great video Prof and totally agree with you on pricing and what Mark Wheat said about value. That's extremely important to players on a budget and new players as well like myself who are absolutely on a budget and don't want to get burned. I'm just getting into Magic and your videos have been extremely helpful. They keep me from eroding entirely while riding the bus 3 hours a day and are helping me make good financial decisions as a brand new player. It's saving me easily more than $5 a month so I was happy to become your newest patron :) I actually found the "Plunder the Graves" at my local game shop for $34.99 which I thought was a great deal because of this exact video so I jumped on it. Monday is commander night at my local game shop and I'm excited to make my first appearance. Thanks again for all you do and for looking out for new players!

You're doing a great job professor, and I appreciate your valued opinions on many subjects pertaining to Magic. Sometimes people forget that your videos are just one source in helping others make an informed decision.
