I have a question I would really appreciate if you would answer. Why is there no standardization of personal arms in the Russian Army forces? In one squad one might see a blued metal/wood AK-74, two camo-painted AK-100 series rifles, one camo-painted AK-200 series rifle and one black AK-12. Some squads have RPKs, some do not. The only thing that is standardized is the use of the PKM as a GPMG. It all makes no sense. Is it corruption (new weapons ”disappeared” now being replaced by older AK-74s when there’s an immediate need), the people in charge of armament of a battalion being lazy, the higher-ups being too lazy, another sign of the general organizational dysfunction of RuAF, nobody givning a shit or what? I have literally never seen an organized military that has no standardized personal weapon before. Even third-world country armies manage this. My sympathies goes out to the battalion gunsmiths in the Russian Army! Thanks in advance, guys. PS. Excellent episode.

Anyone know where I can watch Cheburashka with English subtitles?

RWA boys, are you able to suggest any books about the Soviet involvement in Vietnam? As a Westerner , their involvement is treated almost like cryptid legends; mysterious, powerful and a feeling of omnipresence when in the jungle.

The last reason you give that makes Wagner so effective is crucial I think. Stupidity and lies to protect yourself that leads to shit results are severly punished: in other words there is a very observable lack of instititional apathy, which is basically (in my estimation) at the root of the rot and resultant ineffectiveness of the Russian Armed Forces at this point. Also, you are completely right that the Wagner soldier was acting extremely chivalrous when he tried to get the ultimately killed ukies in the spider hole to surrender at (in my opinion way too) large risk to himself. I think what ultimately made the Wagner soldier open fire was that the unarmed Ukie to the left moved in a way that could easily be construed as he was going to lunge at the Wagner soldier who would then have been killed with the other ukie still having control of his AK, who open fire for his safety. Completely justified, a little tragic, war is hell. There are still however quite a high likelyhood that part of Wagner’s effectiveness is systematically using convicts in near-suicidal missions (not in human wave attacks though, but as infiltration teams that are expected to become casualties). I think it’s a proper and just way too make repeat criminals pay their debt to society.

The denials from Kiev and it’s minions on social media regarding the encirclements of several hundred in Soledar are becoming bizarre (along with the refusal to accept Soledar has now fully fallen). The videos of huge numbers of Ukrainian corpses are more numerous than anything that has yet come out from the battlefield. These videos came out during the days of taking everything east of Sol and the Salt Mine 7, and the bodies were still in rigor mortis, giving undeniable proof of their recent death. These were likely those who either refused to surrender or never had the chance. There are some reports of hundreds captured as well, although those reports have been sparse and haven’t risen above what could be called mere murmurs. One wonders if we’ll find out exactly how many were captured in the fighting in Soledar.

The soldier with the GoPro camera storming that pillbox and shooting the two who wouldn’t surrender was not a Wagner soldier and it wasn’t done in Soledar. There seems to be confusion due to the video coming out during all the action in Soledar. You guys rejecting the story of cell phones being the cause of the successful Ukrainian hit on the stationed Russian soldiers is spot on. Everyone seems to be taking Kievs word for it that this is how it happened, which is unlikely, especially due to the public use of this cause being a good cover for both sides to hide both their intelligence resources and deficiencies, respectively.

Can anybody confirm if the Wagner raid on the UA 17th Tank brigade was real? The one where Telegram sources state they dressed as the enemy and eliminated officers at their HQ? Incredible stuff if true
