Blender 4.0
Hey folks, Blender 4.0 just dropped, and like clockwork, major updates tend to mess with our add-ons. Personally, my go-to, MustardUI, isn't working with the new 4.0 Blender version.

After pondering for a bit, I'm realizing that relying on a User Interface might not be the move anymore. Every time Blender gets a facelift, all my older models become outdated unless I manually tweak each one. Imagine the headache a few months from now with a bunch of models on my hands. Going back and editing each? Not happening.

So, I'm thinking of ditching the UI altogether and reverting to my old-school approach. Rig features? Custom properties. Shapekeys? Chillin' in the shapekeys editor. It's pretty much the same deal, but instead of a User Interface, everything will hang out on a properties bone or the armature's custom properties. That way, no more sweating over Blender updates wrecking my creations.

New Animation
For the upcoming animation, I'll be focusing on Pharah and Widow once again. However, this time, I'm opting for a slower pace compared to the previous fast-paced animation where Pharah was at the bottom. This change allows me to experiment and explore different animation approaches. By varying the speed, I aim to enhance my animation skills and prepare for future scenes, especially dialogue animations. If I stick solely to fast-paced styles, I might face challenges when it comes to animating dialogue scenes without sufficient keyframe practice.

Anyways, that's it for right now. If you have any questions or concerns, please message me whenever you get the chance.

Enjoy your day!

Is it not just better to wait before updating to the newest version of blender though? Or is 4.0 really so much better than 3.6? P.s loving your models so far. Futa Cassie and futa Kitana are about to make their debut

I think it's a good decision to move away from others UI's, relying on others will always be a weakness. I usually wait with updating to a newer version due to all the incompatible version of addons and such, plus tons of glitches/bugs that comes with every new verison. I, me and myself will try to avoid it in the future and keep things simple and user friendly. Much of the stuff can be done and integrated efficiently already inside of a blender file without addons. Kind of annoying all the addons needed today just to work with some artists models etc.

Yea, It's always better to wait a while before updating to the newest Blender version. But Blender has a pattern of whenever they do major updates, they change a lot of Python API stuff and break a lot of peoples add ones. These changes usually never get reverted, they're just added on top of or maybe improved later.

Yea and that's what Im trying to elimate. The need of having to download a bunch of shit just to use a model.
