Oh god there is nothing I’ve been anticipating as much as this update! First page, and I love how Holly’s getting dressed and Janelle’s just standing there. It says so much about their respective attitudes towards their own bodies, towards their womanhood, and what about them they place value in. Holly puts a lot of value in her body, even seeks comfort in it, because even though she’s done horrible things she’s survived at least in part because she’s been able to switch off her conscience and just be who/what she was asked/ordered to be. But Janelle… She’s survived *despite* her body, she’s survived thanks to her determination, and to an extent thanks to her skills and contacts. Her body isn’t something to enjoy — at least not until a too-fleeting moment with Holly — and though it’s a tool it’s not one she gets to wield; she’s just the passenger. Even the way she says to Holly, that Xu ‘made her dress as a woman’ speaks volumes about her attitude to all this; Holly wasn’t made into a woman, she was made to dress as one. Holly, how much of this do you still believe? Is throwing Janelle’s past in her face a calculated move? Or are you desperate, and grabbing for anything that might work? Oh God. Janelle feels *responsible* for not saving Holly. For her becoming what she’s become. Oh shit. And Holly’s *so* desperate. ‘Just two girls in love’ breaks my HEART, Emory. Okay, I couldn’t live react to the next few pages because I couldn’t stop reading them. WOW. The page with the elevator doors closing! I’m DYING. Oh shit oh shit oh shit. Janelle with the new hair and the sensible clothes. Josie looking fucking incredible. And Emily! And Mason! Mason’s been lifting and he looks good again! I’m so excited to meet Mr Morosini, to find out what his relationship with Josie is even *like* (‘My… companion’ 👀). Whenever it happens, however it happens, I’m here for it. WOW. Now to read it again!

I fell bad Holly as well. All she wanted was to make Janelle happy. At the same time, Janelle is not wrong by walking away from Holly. She realized Holly was getting ten million from the man who turn them into women. She didn't want that kind of happiness from likes of Xu or his money.

The plot thickens and thickens and thickens...I love it! 🤯 Josie as they say in my land has "el guapo subido", that is to say, she is gorgeous, what a pretty face. 😍 On the other hand, as usual, there are many new questions and mysteries to be solved: In episode 1, Mr. Xu asks Janelle if Mr. Lockridge called, because he wants to know how satisfied Mr. Lockridge is with his new acquisition, Josie... So who is Mr. Lockridge? And Mr. Morosini? Why is Josie acting as hostess at Mr. Morisini's mansion? Does Janelle have ethical issues with Holly, but not with Mason? Do they already know Connor has been caught? As we commented in the previous episode Holly was going to start taking hits for her role in Second Dawn, we'll see how she reacts, if she can overcome those "limitations" (it's clear that Xu's comment, stung her) and starts to redeem herself.... but first she has to face Jill. At the moment the score is 1-0 against him. We know that Mr. Xu has spied on the meeting between Holly and Josie, taking into account the result of this meeting, I have no doubt that he will have Janelle followed... You have me totally hooked on this story... and all of them, really! Great job Emory! 😘

My theory is that Mr Lockridge is a mere multi-millionaire who’s agreed to act as a front for the billionaire Mr Morosini, taking some of the risk of interacting with Mr Xu’s business empire in exchange for favourable dealings with Lockridge’s business empire. Either that or he’s Morosini’s personal assistant lmao

Nooooooooo, Holly why?!? Your happy ending! It’s right there!! On the one hand I understand where Holly’s coming from like if you’re this close to getting 10 mil why stop but I fully get where Janelle’s at too. It’s a matter of principle rather than being close to the end. I suppose it’s a sunk cost fallacy too. And ooh, as much as mentally i’m all about Jill coming out of this situation safe and sound, I kinda want to see Xu’s plans come to fruition. Something tells me whoever Mason and Jill’s sister are working with is likely worse or more unhinged. Kind of devil you know mentality. But we’ll see! Fantastic as always Emory!!!!

An almost new story has sprung from past events. We can see the expression of the efficient and skin-deep talent of the author. The subversive meeting at the end reminds me of the writings of Agatha Christie and one can even perceive the presence of Hercule Poirot. It is also interesting to note the trend towards a balance of power so that Mr. Xu is no longer alone in fomenting and realizing his ambitions. TYE.

Wow, Alyson, that was such an in-depth and detailed analysis of the episode. You always have such an astute eye. Honestly, it just makes me want to insert more easter eggs and subtle details in the comic! I love your observations about Janelle and Holly's attitude towards their bodies and how they're using them. It's such an interesting and thought-provoking comparison. Janelle's body has been used against her, whereas Holly has been able to use hers to gain a kind of power within the organization. Janelle is essentially asking her to give up that power as proof that she isn't as corrupt and evil as Xu and his ilk. But it's $10 million! And only for a few more weeks! But, of course, for Janelle it might as well be years. I was so excited to bring back Josie! I can't wait to continue her story for everyone. Thanks again for your wonderful insights. Aaah! I'm so sorry it took me forever to reply. You're exactly right that for Janelle it's a matter of principle. If Holly was who Janelle believed she was before, Holly would give up anything to be totally and truly free of the organization which has tortured the both of them. But then, Holly has given up years of her life to Xu. Doesn't she deserve something for the torment she was forced to endure? In a way, Xu's money will help her recover a life she was robbed of. And in that sense, it is also a matter of principle for Holly. She shouldn't give up what is rightfully hers, even if it's coming from an evil source. Right? 😉 You're right that Xu still has many plans up his sleeve. I can't wait to reveal them! As to Mason and Jill's sister, stay tuned! Sorry it took me so long to reply, Nina!
