My advice? Never volunteer for genetic testing!
This made for a long story, but it was fun! I used Photoshop to try to keep her face the same throughout her transformation. I think it worked pretty well! 😀

Martin’s face was puffy and wet; he’d been crying again. When he shuffled by Kelly in his ugly orange bathrobe, he didn’t even look in her direction. He went straight to the liquor cabinet and poured a double Scotch. Before taking his first sip, he took out a pillbox and swallowed a little pink tablet. Inwardly, Kelly cringed. The estrogen’s effect on his body was evident: Martin had grown large breasts and a plump ass. Kelly was trying to be supportive, but things had been difficult between them, to say the least.
“Honey—” Kelly began.
“I don’t want to talk,” Martin replied.
“We have to talk sometime,” Kelly said.
“I know,” Martin sighed. “Just…not now.”
The doctors at Camp Dupont said Martin needed the estrogen. Ever since that damned procedure, his body had become highly resistant to androgens. Without any sex hormones, he might develop severe medical conditions like osteoporosis, with bones so brittle that they could disintegrate from a sneeze.
“I’m worried about you,” Kelly said. “About us.”
“There is no us,” Martin said. “I’ve told you before, you should divorce me. How can I be your husband if I’m not even a man?”
When she married him, Martin was a kind, brave young man who joined the military shortly after graduating high school. As a cadet, Martin volunteered to be part of a study. Little did he know he was volunteering to test “non-lethal” bioweapons.
A gene-editing technique known as CRISPR/Cas9 was used to infect Martin and a handful of other male soldiers with a virus designed to alter the genetic code. The alteration was successful, inflicting a genetic condition known as Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, or AIS. Typically, a person is born with the condition, but the gene-editing technique was designed to produce it in a normal male. Of course, the procedure was supposed to be completely reversible using the same method. But for some unknown reason, it failed. Martin desperately tried to “butch up” by working our and even getting tattoos. But it was a losing battle. As the months wore on, the jovial man Kelly had fallen in love with was eventually replaced by a sullen woman.
“I know things have been hard, Martin,” Kelly said. “But I don’t want a divorce. I love you. I still want to be with you.”
“How?” Martin said. “How can I with these-” Martin clutched his breasts-“on my chest? I couldn’t do that to you. You deserve more than a freak like me. You deserve a man. A real man.”
Kelly chewed her lip. Time for a little tough love. “I thought you were supposed to be a soldier? Brave and courageous. Well, right now, you’re acting like a damned coward.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You’re drinking yourself into oblivion. You’re too damn afraid to talk things out,” Kelly said. “And, of course, I’m worried about what will happen to us. Fuck, you’re the only family I have…and the only man I love. But dumping me because of this? Throwing away the best thing that ever happened to you is just timid and stupid.”
Tears sprang to Martin’s eyes. He cried a lot more now, but Kelly didn’t mind; it was better than him bottling everything up inside. “I’m sorry, babe. I’ll... I’ll try.”
She rushed over and hugged him. Martin’s breasts pressed tight against her body. “That’s all we can do, honey,” she said, kissing him. “Try. Together.”
