P.S. Timeline-wise, this edition makes it clear that Jack has been captured for years at this point. The first "timestamp" we have is from a camera feed in late 2016. That said, it's not 2021 yet in the story. 😀

Xu really knows Jill inside and out. This guy knows that Emily will try to rescue Jill and probably has a backup plan for her, Janelle, and Holly. He playing ever inch of Jill's rescue like a chess game.
