I do love the "role swap" sub-genre, especially when it's handled in a semi-realistic way! 😀

Vince leaned against the pool table, feeling ridiculous in the red gown he’d been forced to wear for the evening.
“Hey, you all right?” Sofia asked. “I mean, relatively speaking?”
“I’m sorry,” he said. “It’s nice to be back with you, even for a night. I just… I never wanted you to see me this way.”
She smiled at him. He felt her hand on his arm, squeezing it gently. “I love you, no matter how they’ve made you look.” She kissed him softly on the lips.
He looked down at his hands, which were still clutching hers. Had he always had such small hands? Hormones can’t change bone structure, right? He felt a tear roll down his cheek, and he looked up. “I’m sorry,” he said, “I just can’t get used to this.”
She gazed at him with a mixture of pity and love. She brushed her hand against his cheek, wiping the tear away. “I know,” she said. “I know.” She kissed him again, longer and more passionately this time.
“Hey!” shouted one man in the corner. “You’re here to play, not kiss.”
“Yeah,” another growled. “Let’s see a game.”
Sofia looked at Vince. “Do you want to play?”
He shook his head. “Sofia, do you even see me as your husband after what they’ve done to me?”
She thought for a moment. “I see you as you,” she said. “Yes, they’ve made you look like a woman, but you’re still the same person. I love you. “
“And what if I’m not?” Vince asked, his voice trembling. “I feel changed. Not just my body, but inside. I don’t understand myself anymore.”
“It’s the hormones,” she said. “They do things to you.”
“I know,” he said. “But I can’t help how I feel. I mean, it’s like they made me into a completely different person.”
“You are different,” she said, looking at his cleavage. “But you have the same heart. You’re still the…person I love.”
Vince looked at her, then down at his hands. “I don’t know what to do,” he said. “I’m sorry.”
Sofia shook her head. “One day at a time. For tonight, all we have to do is play a game of pool. Me in a tux and you in a gown.”
Vince looked at her. “You do look handsome.”
She smiled. “And you look beautiful.”
Vince blushed, feeling an odd mix of shame and pride. “Do you think these assholes will ever let us go? Do you think we’ll ever be able to go back to our old lives?”
Sofia looked at him sadly. “I don’t know. All I know is, right now, in this moment, we have each other. That’s all that matters.”
They looked into each other’s eyes, and for a brief moment, everything was perfect. They felt complete.
Then, the man who’d been watching them spoke. “All right,” he said. “You can quit making googly eyes at each other and play now.”
Vince looked up at him. “What do you want us to play?”
“Straight pool,” he said, then laughed. “Although, I guess there’s nothing straight about you two anymore, eh?”
