So Emily is the one who got Joey to spy Jack's gender transformation. When she noticed that Joey didn't respond back to her, that when Emily appeared at Mason's area. While there, she is figuring out what happen to her brother. By the time she got inside, she learn the truth about him and Josh's fate from Joey's gender change pictures. I have a hunch that Mason left that folder out in the basement on purpose. Also, I have a feeling that Emily will trust Mason at first, but she will eventually. As well as Jason's feeling for Jill.
