Chapter 1 of Ménage à Moi introduces two versions of an apartment I made from scratch. Allow me to take you on a tour of Rico's home (I'm still reworking Kiersten's).

The doors from left to right: Bathroom, Rico's Bedroom, Marta's Bedroom. I placed the doors along with the wall segments, furniture, ceiling lights, etc. Everything was moved and rotated by hand... er mouse.

I applied shaders to nearly everything trying to get a unique look rather than an off-the-shelf Daz asset. Of course, I took the opportunity to add my favorite thing: realistic details. If you look at the floor closely you can see little spots of dust.

Rather than a closet, a large wardrobe is used instead. Being an apartment, there isn't much need for a utility room either. Note, all the wood furniture matches.

On to the kitchen. Well, kitchen and laundry room. After all, space is at a premium, and sharing a single wall is an economical use of water lines.

Finally, our last stop is the bathroom. Like the rest of the apartment, it has been upgraded to suit Marta's rather expensive tastes. The shower floor is marble with tiled walls. The sink counter features intricate carvings on its wooden base.

As you can imagine, this took a lot of effort. But why? What was the payoff?

This is:

Rendered in just under 8 minutes on my RTX 2070.

I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be bogged down by render times and, more importantly, memory limits. Unlike store-bought rooms, this set is as optimized as I can get it, which should greatly assist me in scene creation throughout Ménage à Moi's production.

P.S. I wasn't able to publish this BTS post until now, so it is unlocked for all supporters instead of the expected tier delay as today would have been the day it was available for all tiers had I released it on time. It's been a crazy month for me, but I'll try to avoid this happening again in the future.
