i want to say "many korean people in general" but i don't know enough about the daily life of the avg Korean to say so, however i have seen alot of people in korean entertainment for years off and on camera and can say Koreans, at least in entertainment, generally, use way more expressive facial gestures, and all sorts of gestures overall as part of their communication, than Americans do. Even they're language hangul, with some common sounds being drawn out "ooo's" tend to influence the facial expressions they make when they communicate and sound out their words, in which just tends to be way more expressive than me and anyone I know in America, even in less popular shows, many interviews, the music industry and so forth. So while I cant attest to every gesture u'll notice as odd, loud, or whatnot, I feel I can fairly confidently say, especially when the creator of this show didn't even expect it to be popular, that most of the gestures your seeing probably aren't for any real foreign appeal and just kinda how said actors do what they do. for ex the "act like hes 12 thing" while definitely played up wasn't, i feel, as played up a reaction as to make you think "oh hes acting like a child" so much as it was to show hes just a loud character, cuz I've seen that same style of eccentric line delivery in damn near any korean show or kdrama i watched and some of the characters in these other shows arent even bums like hum who are acting childish and its just how they're line delivery is, so i feel its just a matter of a given characters expression more than it is a matter of the characters personality i think (like an oh hes childish, cuz if thats the case then idk cuz there are a lot of childish archetypes in korean media then otherwise).
