- This cute little doodle was just a reminder for what I always wanted to do. Yet another complicated animation featuring a new 3D model. The 3D model wasn't compatible with Clip Studio Paint, so I went into blender and removed a bunch of additional 3D assets that were part of the model, then converted the file to make it work on CSP.
- I started the animation off by using the 3D model to make it run, it was easy enough because after animating the first three frames I reused the top half and flipped the legs around to create the running cycle.
- Eventually I went overboard with the 3D animation, originally I wanted to do something like this but over time I realised that if I kept it like this, then it would of taken me a lot longer to finish off. So what I did was I kept the run and the punch but cut out the flip, shoot and land.
- What I did was I split the animation into two segments, this part that's roughly animated is the running part and I planned on working on the other part separately.
- Afterwards I outlined the first three frames, then I took the same frames and flipped the legs over. Later I added the weapon on the right hand for all six frames. Eventually I roughed and inked the face, then I copied the face and pasted it all the frames.
- A while later I roughed out the attack animation.
- After that I outlined and added the flat white for the attacking animation, I played the whole thing just to see how it'll look.
- At that moment in time I wanted to see how far I could take this animation, so what I did was I tweened a bunch of LVL: UPS! just to see what it would look like, this animation alone gave me an idea.
- Afterwards I added the background and tweened it so that it would look like the main hero is running towards the panel, then what I did was I took some action line assets and made a small three framed animation to give it some impact when the LVL: UP! appears.
- Finally I coloured the background, the main hero's weapon and added the LVL: 3 above his head.
