Monthly Suggestion (Halfmoon Angst - Part 1) (Patreon)

Hello everyone!

Here is last poll winner, some good ol' angst! Since this suggestion deserved some extra work, we will be splitting this suggestion in two posts until I finish the next part.

The group of soldiers arrived at Halfmoon like a gloomy parade. Catra made a point of showing interest in the condition of some of the wounded Magicats, but her gaze strayed around her in search of her friends. Ursa, as big as she was, was easy to spot, but G'ali, who was limping, leaning on the larger cat and looking smaller than usual, couldn’t be seen until she was by Catra and Adora’s side.

“What happened?!” Catra cried in alarm. G'ali, who covered her abdomen with a stained cloth, seemed to flinch at the volume of her voice. Catra felt Adora's hand on her shoulder, and welcomed the warning to keep her composure.

“An ambush,” Ursa said, looking down. “G'ali was watching the rear. We didn't realize she was gone until we managed to stop the attack.” Despite her calm tone, Catra knew her well enough to know that  Ursa was already blaming herself for what happened, despite the fact that no one else ever would. -

“Hestnut…” Ursa added. Although Catra expected more of an explanation, the big cat said no more.

G'ali, held on her feet only with the help of her companion, dropped to her knees and hunched forward.

“What has she done to you?” Catra asked. Trying to control the anger in her voice, it came out broken. Catra tried to push G'ali's hands away from her abdomen. G’ali resisted at first, but it didn't take long for her to give in. Her hands moved away to reveal a word painted across her stomach in red.

“Outcat?” Adora read aloud before realizing what she’d said. She put her hands to her mouth, disgusted, when she realized that the word was not painted on the belly of the young Magicat.
