EDIT: Screencap of KKT message between MHJ and Shaman

On the 23rd, ADOR stated, "The content of the article in question is false information reconstructed based on speculation, and we plan to take strong legal action against it." They further claimed, "The details in the report, such as internal meeting minutes, division of work, and personal KakaoTalk messages, could not have been obtained without the cooperation of HYBE and Source Music and the dissemination of false information."

They continued, "Exposing the personal information of trainees whose contracts have ended and artists currently with other agencies to the public without permission, as well as leaking medical records, related materials, and demos, constitutes a breach of contract and a serious felony." They emphasized, "The trainee contracts between Source Music and the members of NewJeans have ended, and there is no provision allowing the use of their portraits, voices, etc. Therefore, Source Music’s release of trainee videos through the media is a severe illegal act infringing on the portrait rights of the NewJeans members, and immediate measures should be taken to protect the artists."

They added, "We criticize HYBE for providing news articles and materials that defame the CEO of a subsidiary company, such as having a third party leak illegally obtained private messenger conversations without permission and falsely editing them according to their own intentions. We plan to take strong legal action against them for their immoral behavior."

ADOR also released a 2021 email providing insight into the situation at the time, saying, "It is very different from the actual facts that the debut of Team N was indefinitely postponed due to CEO Min Hee-jin's negligence."

The CBO office PT data in the email is the [NewJeans Planning Draft], which was called the 'N' Team/'21-Year Team' in 2020. It is a PT data created directly by CEO Min Hee-jin, who was working as the CBO at the time. They explained that the situation arose from significant differences of opinion on the concept of the new girl group team, which was a three-party collaboration at the time.

The timeline is as follows:

  • In March 2020, the Big Hit Marketing Team proposed the '21-Year Team' launching strategy.

    • However, CEO Min Hee-jin, who was the head of creative at the time, judged that the direction of the content was not right and prepared a separate launching strategy on her own.

  • In May 2020, CEO Min Hee-jin announced the launching strategy (since it was a three-way collaboration, Bang Si-hyuk, So Seong-jin, and Source Music officials attended).

    • Chairman Bang Si-hyuk: "Hee-jin's PT plan was quite excellent, but it was unconventional (as it was described at the time) and seemed difficult to implement with Source Music's infrastructure, so it would be better for CEO Min Hee-jin's label to proceed."

  • In August 2020, Source Music re-proposed the preliminary plan.

    • In May, a significant portion of CEO Min Hee-jin's launching strategy was copied.

    • A complaint was made to Source Music and So Seong-jin, who acknowledged it.

As shown in the email, the launching strategy of NewJeans, which Source Music had given feedback on as being difficult to implement, was copied by Source Music. It was being discussed again, and discussions on R&R and production timelines between each company were bound to be difficult.

ADOR (then CBO office) did not receive a reply to the email.

Sharing the official emails that everyone exchanged at the time, rather than the patchwork data provided by HYBE, which makes false claims, is much more accurate in understanding the context and determining the right and wrong, so we are disclosing them.

ADOR can sufficiently prove more content with additional data, as there are Slack conversations and KakaoTalk conversations between the people involved at the time. However, we decided that disclosing personal conversations would be inappropriate, so we are disclosing only the emails for now.

We cannot understand HYBE, which continues to spread lies and fabrications despite the existing data and witnesses from that time, as well as the parents and members who experienced it firsthand.

It is a felony to forensically examine a laptop without the consent of its members, but it is an even greater crime to store personal conversations on the company's server. ADOR and NewJeans' legal representatives are seriously outraged and are taking action against the numerous absurd media plays and responses that HYBE is currently carrying out.

Lastly, we state that the entire content of the article is based on false information, making it meaningless to refute it. The distortion and fabrication of facts and timelines constitute serious defamation and obstruction of business for ADOR, NewJeans, and CEO Min Hee-jin. We warn that HYBE executives should immediately stop unnecessary persecution of their subsidiary, refrain from causing unnecessary disputes, actively cooperate with the police investigation, and refrain from committing any further illegal acts.

ADOR's Full Statement

Hello, this is ADOR.

Here is ADOR's statement on the article reported by Dispatch today:

The content of the article in question is a falsehood reconstructed based on speculation, and we plan to take strong legal action against it. The content in the report, such as internal meeting minutes, division of work, and personal KakaoTalk messages, could not have been covered without the cooperation of HYBE and Source Music and the dissemination of false information.

In particular, it is a breach of contract and a serious felony to disclose personal information of trainees whose contracts have ended and artists who have transferred to other agencies without permission, and to leak various data that violates confidentiality, including medical records, related materials, and demos.

The trainee contracts between Source Music and the members of NewJeans have already ended, and there is no provision in the contract allowing the use of the trainees’ portraits, voices, etc. Therefore, we inform you that Source Music’s release of the trainee video through the media is a very serious illegal act that infringes on the portrait rights of the members of NewJeans, and we request that they immediately take measures to protect the artists.

In addition, we plan to take strong legal action against HYBE for providing news articles and materials that defame the CEO of a subsidiary company, such as having a third party leak illegally obtained private messenger conversations and falsely editing them according to their own intentions, and the media that reported on them, which is beyond pathetic and immoral.

Contrary to the content of the Dispatch article, the claim that Team N's debut was indefinitely postponed due to CEO Min Hee-jin's inaction is very different from the actual facts.

Therefore, to correct the fabricated information, we are disclosing an email from 2021 that provides information about the situation at the time.

The CBO office PT data in this email is the [NewJeans Planning Draft], which was called the 'N' Team/'21 Team' in 2020. It is PT data created directly by CEO Min Hee-jin, who was working as the CBO at the time. We would like to inform you that this situation arose from significant differences of opinion regarding the concept of the new girl group team, which involved a three-party collaboration.

    • However, CEO Min Hee-jin, who was the head of creative at the time, judged that the direction of the content was not right and prepared a separate launching strategy on her own.

Lastly, we state that the entire content of the article is based on false information, making it meaningless to refute it. The distortion and fabrication of facts and timelines constitute serious defamation and obstruction of business for ADOR, NewJeans, and CEO

Nix

From ADOR? As in there's literally no one else that supports this scam besides MHJ herself. The Co-CEO certainly doesn't support this nonsense. Everyone else with any power to have this kind of voice is MHJ. It's sad to watch such a creative human be so mashed.

Puhi Netana

Here see goes again. Frankly I’m surprised she hasnt accused them of copying her again. She can release KKT talk messages in a media conference to the public, share details of trainees with external parties, distort facts etc. I hope Park Ji Won enjoys a nice break from the melodramatics. She must be sooo annoyed she lost her power within ADOR.
