MHJ: Hello

KBS: You had your second press conference today. And the vibe was completely different from the first press conference. Your outfit, the way of speaking, and even your terminology was different. Did yesterday's court decision have any impact?

MHJ: Of course. At the first press conference, I needed to make a statement because the situation was getting more difficult. But now that I have won the case in yesterday's ruling. Actually, from my perspective, now it's easier to explain my position, and I can better explain the situation.

KBS: Now, HYBE continues to file complaints and accusations against you. What kind of reconciliation do you think is possible with HYBE?

MHJ: I think we need a quick decision for everyone; the shareholders, fans, and especially the group members. Actually, this isn't an emotional position. We need to think realistically. This is just a logical point of view.

KBS: They call it the 'Min Hee-Jin-style Head-On-Collision'. I can't use the intense words you used at the first press conference here.

Right.

KBS: Should we expect more direct conflict between you and HYBE?

MHJ: Well, I don't know I think 'direct conflict' can be interpreted in many ways. But I still think a direct approach is correct. Because I don't think there's anything that can be solved passively. Usually I like to take problems head-on. And this has always worked. I think it's still on-going. We're taking things 'head-on' but it's not a crash. It's a matter that the two sides are arguing in the court now.

KBS: Let me ask you a question from HYBE's perspective. They're claiming you were planning to take NewJeans from the label. Is this true?

MHJ: No, It's not true at all. No matter what I do, we are under the HYBE label, so they're aware of everything. The decision for NewJeans' future is not mine alone. It's a contradictory story. Of course as the CEO, I have to protect ADOR, so in all of these negotiations and conversations I'm defending my company. It is practically impossible for me to take Newjeans from their contract.

KBS: There is a lot of criticism from fans that this type of management dispute is eroding the future of NewJeans. What do you think about this?

MHJ: Actually, I didn't start this. And I don't think it's just a management dispute. However, the fact that a problem has developed and this has become an issue is obviously not good for NewJeans. So from my perspective, I hope to resolve the matter quickly. The reason why I applied for provisional injunction was to obtain justification for a quick settlement.

KBS: K-pop is Korea's representative cultural product that is loved all over the world. However, some people say the management level of the companies is not up to par. Especially with the publicity on this case. What do you think needs to be fixed in the future?

MHJ: A system refers to an institutionalized structure that makes it easier for employees to do their work. However, to be honest, K-pop companies shouldn't operate like a factory. If we treat it like a factory, and solve our problems in this way, everything starts to become the same. I'm worried we're approaching this work like a factory that mass-produces products.

KBS: Fans are wondering about the future of NewJeans. How will the newly appointed board positions affect NewJeans' activities?

MHJ: Well, we will be releasing the first Japanese single on June 21. I think the Tokyo Dome event will proceed as I planned it. Other than that, I'm not sure how it's going to go. We had a meeting this morning. So going forward, I think we'll have to see what's going to happen.
