QUESTION: NEWJEANS FLOPPING? (Patreon)

About 10 of you asked me this. I was going to do a video but I am already on my PJs LOL.

I can do a video with more details if you want, i'll do it tomorrow but it will be exclusive to Patreon as I don't want to invite the haters in YT.

Long story short...

They aren't flopping in the strictest sense of the word. They sold 800K albums already. They are also in BUBBLING HOT 100.

However, they aren't doing as well as they used to.

They haven't gotten a RAK (Real-Time All Kill) and no PAK (Perfect All Kill) either. Supernova of Aespa has been blocking them and it's a much older song.

Many theorize that people who got pissed by them are helping Aespa chart. Maybe this is partly true, meaning there are people who actually are pushing AESPA.

But we also need to consider that maybe AESPA is simply gaining better traction with this album. It is really different and Supernova is catchy.

I think NewJeans has put out the same music for the last 2 years and the market is not as interested. In other words, the novelty is slowly dying down.

in the Circle Retail album chart (this is the chart that tracks actual scans, so actual sales), their numbers are bad compared to what they shipped.

That being said, I wouldn't call this a flop. It's just not as good as the last time.

I think this will shake MHJ a bit to reinvent so as not to totally lose momentum.

On another note, it makes me appreciate LE SSERAFIM, MAMAMOO, AESPA, and even TWICE for constantly changing things up.
