Each one of these videos is unique, taken from hours of footage I recorded experimenting with different angles. Not only did I film so many gigs worth of footage to get some creative camera angle, but it also took a number of sessions just to figure out/ remember how to “mount the centaur.”

Mounting the Centaur: The Sentauress

I’ve been doing these deep squat exercises since mid-November (circa my “buttermilk and mochi pancake” craving). It's been amazing, and I highly recommend the practice videos leading up to this that I'm doing now.

Now, it’s taken off into a life of it's own. I call it Sentauress (playing on the Sagittarian Centaur theme).

A selection of videos leading up to now:

First Session - Yoga for the Sagittarius Season

Malasana Yoga Exercises - Malasana Yoga Exercises

Stretch Session - Hump Day Power Yoga Stretch!

Inner Thighs and Hips - Pirate's Day

Feet and Ankels - Upward Opening into Ustrasana

The first session came so naturally, but then trying to recreate it again was a jumble. It was especially complicated trying to recreate the practice on the other side.

Then, the real hard pill to swallow was after one really good session with a perfect camera angle, set on just the right height. I hit record and immersed myself in the flow. It felt just as magical and cohesive as the first session, but in a more refined way.

But then, during that particular session my camera battery had died. The file became corrupted with no way to recover... and I tried. I researched, tried and had to accept failure.

Lesson Learned

Now I know that there is a difference between my Sony brand name battery and my off-brand backup. If the Sony battery runs out, the footage shot up until the battery death gets saved. On the off-brand, it’s all a wash. Meaning, NOTHING.

These are the things that can happen. Good thing I filmed this practice a LOT!
