There are statues of that Gon and people who cosplay as it.

The episode I was most looking forward the most for you guys to watch. Such a crazy thing to think about what Gon was prepared to do

DragLogia5

Funny that Sam have never seen adult Gon before. Because before I seen the 2011 version. I saw someone cosplay as adult Gon and the reason why I remember the cosplay so well, because the person actually made his hair stick straight up just like in the manga/anime. It was like at least 10’ high from his head.

Waited all arc for this ep😩🙏🏾

DragLogia5

It was either stated or foreshadowed back in York New arc that when a nen user die. The nen still live on like a soul. Which was one of the reasons why the phantom troops didn’t kill Kurapika or the others. Pitou feeling/bound for the King, was powerful enough that the nen use her corpse as weapon. Also it was hinted that the nen become more powerful after the nen user die.

This episode is a 10/10. For me it was the peak of this arc right here.

If it wasn't clear. Gon basically formed a Nen contract with himself the way Kurapika did to fight the spiders. Forcing a restriction and rule on himself to increase power except in God's case it's much more harsh. He essentially said "I don't care if I die I will use all the power i have to defeat this one enemy" he put not just his current power on the line but all the power he would eventually achieve if he continued training diligently and because aura is also life energy he's fully prepared to sacrifice his talent and his life to defeat Pitou

Your reaction to this episode can be described with the word "flabbergasted". It's a word that rarely can be used appropriately, but more so than most situation. This might be accurate.

One thing I gotta say, and it’s usually not said on these reactions. But his hair makes sense. He aged himself how many years? That’s all his hair grown out and uncut. It flows up because it would get in the way of his fight. It’s kind of a neat little addition

Yeah I as going to type something like this. Though Gon's fingernails and toenails should have grown out too, so Togashi was being selective about things (imagine him with those grown out lol)....But no matter how logical it is, the real reason it was added is that it's cool as heck.

Yup this one and another upcoming one but the next arc cemented my favorite character in the anime which is kinda an outlier for me since my favorite is usually a certain type

Damn that scene where Gon is telling Killua it doesn't hurt and hes happy always gets me that's a sad broken boy if ever I heard one the music is perfect as well great reaction can't wait for the rest

Some stuff that I've kinda put together and picked up from the Internet and comments here and there is that Gon essentially made a pact with himself like kurapika. Kurapika obtained more power by swearing with himself to use certain abilities exclusively against the phantom troupe, thereby forfeiting his life if he broke that covenant. Here it seems Gon made the pledge to sacrifice what he thought he could ever become, whether it was an accurate representation of his actual potential or not. He was ready for this to be his life's final act. He exchanged all of that so he could obtain an unfathomable amount of power/aura. He didn't care about obtaining just enough. He didn't even know how much power this nen pact would actually get him. He was going all in, mind body and soul, now and in the future, and that would be enough. Dude needs therapy. Like yeah you learned a lesson from him once years ago and you hung out with him for a few months. And he's your dad's former student but that probably wasn't even the reason. I think Gon felt that this new relationship with Kite was the closest he had ever been to his dad and possibly ever would be, so he had to protect it no matter what. Since he failed to do that he essentially came to the conclusion that he failed to show his dad that he could be strong enough to meet him and that he had lost his final chance to find him and gain his approval. The realization gave his immature obsession with Daddy's approval to blow up and allow his soul to be consumed by hatred, for his enemy and more precisely for himself. Bro almost literally made a pact with his inner demons. Awesome show. Probably one of my favorites. I mean, it got me to write this long ass comment about it. I'ma quit yappin. Thank you guys! Keep up the cool reactions

Killua X

ever since I saw this episode, whenever a character in an anime says anything like "i dont care" or "this is the end", I recognize the japanese and think of that moment in this episode :'( . the greatest rage in any anime...

Sky Waterer

Gon is hella misogynistic for that istg

Baby Gon to Papa Guts

Gon screaming Pitou always gives me goosebumps and I always think thats legit the best voice acting line i've heard in all of HxH!

Anthony Chavez

it breaks my heart cause at the end of the day gon is still just a little boy whose entire psyche has been shattered to the point of....well we all saw. gon needs a mother fuckin hug...and his father! ffs.

Takezo

By far the saddest scenes in any anime I've seen. The moment Gon makes that contract I just teared up knowing his life is probably gone or wasted

ThatguyBri

I'm pretty sure the reason he was able to grow to an adult is because he's an enhancer. So he "enhanced" his body to age up for the fight
