Too early for heartbreak, I’ll watch this first today

I think when he describes the qualities of ai he doesn’t mean it in way he had romantic feelings, I kinda just think ai was that radiant that he was always a die hard fan. And her being his mom only enhances that bond essentially. At least that’s the way I interpreted it. Also a fun fact I found out after watching the show myself is I believe akanes incident was based off of a real life incident where a reality tv Star committed suicide due to online criticism.

Love the ending of the episode. Thank you for the upload!

2023-07-20 20:40:33 I think its fine/perfectly normal to acknowledge that a middle aged man being obsessed with a 16 year old female idol is really weird, while at the same time keeping in mind that for him specifically it was less of a romantic thing and more of a weird hobby that he picked up from one of his favorite patients who’s a hardcore stan. Aqua could easily be a consistently creepy perverted character, but he’s been pretty tame/asexual so far and seems to only be turned on by revenge based on what’s been shown lmao like how Sasuke didn’t care for Sakura cuz he was obsessed with killing Itachi.

That moment at the end was pretty hype.

I don't understand why so many people interpret Aqua's feelings as romantic (and not Ruby's, when she feels exactly the same way). The awkwardness comes not from the character but from the viewer. The show never implies romantic love from this character for Ai. Not even once. And of course, we all feel love for our friends, our parents, our family and sometimes for certain artists. Just as we sometimes idealize them. It's also nice that the show deals the complex and unsettling aspect of reincarnation (new body, new persona) from the point of view of the character experiencing it, questioning his own identity (is he the old, is he the new, is he a fusion of the two) and the emotional and moral impact this has on his relationships.
