Ya let them watch. We here have a PhD in HxH after the nth time watching it. I always pick up something else after watching it again.

Colt came to Morel/Knov specifically to save queen by waving white flag, in exchange for colt helping netero/morel/knov by providing information. It's a deal between them. That's why they were saving the queen. Killing her would mean going back on their own word or the deal that they had with colt (You can assume this given colt approaches them with white flag and then helps netero understand how powerful he is compared to the king and probably more).

I don't think you're supposed to feel sorry for the Queen, but for Colt. He saw the queen as somebody to protect, like his little sister when he was a human. Now that the Queen has died, he feels like he failed to protect somebody he loves once again
