You misunderstood the quirktalk a bit: Allmight made the only right choice! Only a quirkless person can handle AFO without dying, because it got too strong. The glass metaphor means an already full glass would leak over. Mirio would have died basically if Allmight would have given him the quirk (sorry nighteye). HOWEVER this is not the first time we heard this and it proofs the quirksingularity theory to be correct. We got introduced to this theory in season four (but we got hints throughout the entire show). And in this season we learned, that the theory was first brought up by AFOs friend, the doc, who got outcasted for it as people called it a dooms day theory. Which really makes you question a) what exactly are AFOs motivations and b) was it really a coincidence that two quirkless people got OFA in a row. AFO also said „I feel connected each time I steal or give away a quirk“…now his brother suddenly looks really shady to me.
