This is why I love HXH so much. The plot isn’t always gonna go the way you expect it to and you aren’t gonna always be given a fight just because you want one. The show goes in the direction that makes the most sense to the writer based on the characters he’s created, and that’s just it. Plus the writing is great & accumulative throughout the show, constant character development.

yep, it keeps getting better, the current manga arc is pretty wild too. Impressive storytelling. Not mundane by being combat focused, and when the battle happens it's such a unique experience. So many genres being applied keeps the story always fresh.

In response to Nicole asking if the Troupe would be “good” now- the appeal of the Spiders in my opinion is how easily Togashi goes from making us fear, despise, love, and care for from scene to scene. They are undoubtedly bad people, but their morals are so atypical that it’s easy to forget those looking at just the context of specific scenes- like Nobunaga’s fondness for Gon being a result of his love for Uvogin, or Pakunoda’s entire dilemma in this arc. The Nobunaga that is obsessed w getting Killua and Gon to join the Spiders seems like a different character than the one who slaughtered Squala without a second thought- from Nobu’s own perspective he even showed mercy in that scene (which we know isn’t the case).
