I step into the guild, glancing around-

Huh?

Isn't that... Lahar?

The glasses wearing rune knight is speaking with Erza. The conversation appears to be quite important.

She looks over and quickly waves me over.

I tilt my head and quickly approach as the rune knight turns.

"Oh?" He questions.

"Lahar... it has been a while." I greet as I come to a stop before the two of them.

"I wasn't aware you were a wizard." He notes.

"I dabble." I shrug with a small smile. "Do you need anything?"

"Lahar is here to submit a request to Fairy Tail from the Magic Council... we are to assist the Rune Knights in apprehending the Eisenwald Guild." Erza informs.

A quest has been received.

"We have managed to get the location of the Eisenwald guild from the shadow wizard Kageyama and we are planning a raid upon it." Lahar informs. "But. Considering the remoteness of the guild hall, we decided to seek out the fairy tail guild as we lack a lot of firepower to take it down."

"Ah. So we don't have a chance to do ludicrous amounts of property damage. I see." I nod slowly.

"Yes. That was our intention." The man quietly nods. "Fairy Tail wizards are... certainly destructive. But they are reliable."

"Can I join in?" I ask Erza.

"Hm... your magic capabilities could be useful. How good are you at healing?"

"I'm fairly good. My main issue is that I don't exactly have a lot of magical energy at the moment." I admit. "I-"

THUD

I look down to see some random background wizard faceplant into the floor from the small scuffle in the corner.

"..."

He sits up, blood pours from his nose from the rough landing.

He is ridiculously muscular.

He flexes. "Alright. That's IT!"

I snap my fingers a red magic circle briefly appearing. "Healing Ruby."

A bright red glow seems to surround him, he looks confused for a moment, then brings a hand to his nose which is rapidly healed before our eyes.

"I am decent at healing." I comment as I turn back to face Erza and the Rune Knight. "I can do that roughly four times before I exhaust my magical power... of course, I could do a lesser version that heals about half eight times."

"So you'd be out of the fight once you heal just four times?" Erza questions.

"Well, not exactly. If needed I can do this pretty much at will." There's a dull glow as three large needles appear in between my fingers. "This spell is so efficient that I don't even really spend any energy while doing it."

I...

Should honestly get like 'Craft Wand' or something.

Holy fuck that'd be broken- wait... I could totally get a wand of Healing Ruby for like...

Four thousand five hundred gold pieces...

"..."

Rest in pieces nuke plan. I'll still grab a necklace of fireballs if needed.

I promptly purchase a wand of Healing Ruby, feeling it get deposited into my Requip space. "I also have this wand, which should let me cast 'Healing Ruby' fifty times before it runs out of energy and I can focus my actual magic elsewhere."

With a flash a simple wooden stick-like object, polished and sleek appears in my hand.

"H-Huh?!" Erza blinks.

"Fifty healings of that scale... hm... yes. That could change things." Lahar ponders. "Very well. You would be of great assistance to us as well."

"When will we be leaving?" I ask.

"As soon as I can locate Natsu and Grey."

"Are there any other wizards which could be of help?" I continue. "There's no sense in going with just us four."

"Lucy said that she was too new at being a wizard to consider attacking the guild hall of a dark guild." The red haired woman frowns. "I accept her decision. She has only been a part of the guild for a little over two weeks. As for other wizards... hm... I wonder if Team Shadow Gear would be open to assist us? Levy's magic could be useful as support."

I turn my head slightly. "Oh. There's Natsu."

The woman turns and marches off as I cross my arms.

~~Linebreak~~

I quietly make my way through a frankly creepy forest. A frown tugs at my lips, the sound of numerous clanking grieves and jingling metal echoes out into the shade cast by a sky full of clouds.

I am stood alongside Numerous knights, somewhat towards the front of the larger groups.

"I thought you wanted to sit this one out, Lucy." I mutter quietly to the blonde who is walking a short distance away.

"W-Well... If Levy is going to help... So will I!" She exclaims.

My eyes stray to the blue haired girl walking side by side with two boy wizards, one with a big fuzzy Cat in the hat looking hat.

Doctor Seuss wants his fucking hat back.

"Hey." I greet as I slowly walk over. "I've seen you three around the Guild. I'm Merlin."

"I'm Jet." The cat in the hat looking dude steps in front of the blue haired girl.

"I'm Droy." The other teen steps infront of him.

""And that's Levy!"" they point back behind them.

Said girl shoves them both out of the way. "And I can speak for myself!"

She gives them a slightly irritated glare before looking to me, offering me a hand. "Hello, I'm Levy Mcgarden. I practice Solid Script Magic, It's a pleasure to meet you, Merlin."

"Oh? Solid script? So, like, can you make any word real?"

"Yep!" She beams as her finger swings through the air.

The word 'Candle' appears, looking like, well, a wax candle which she holds in one hand.

I note the 'Solid Script Candle' that appears in my vision. A cantrip, apparently.

"Huh... that must be incredibly useful." Regardless, I can't really do much with that, so I don't learn it. "Can you do compound words? Like snowball?"

"Mhm." She nods. "it's such a fun magic!"

"What about open compound words? With a space?" I continue. "Like, if you wrote the words Apple Pie would it be an apple pie, or would you create two items. An apple and a pie.

"Oh... it's the second, sadly."

"What if you use a hyphen?"

"Hyphen?" She echoes.

"Oh, y'know, that dash in between-."

"Oh, I know what a Hyphen is, I'm just wondering... would that work?" She seems to think deeply for a moment.

Her finger dances through the air.

"Apple-"

An apple made of the letters 'A-p-p-l-e' appears in her hand.

"Ah... that didn't work... it was a good idea though..." She sighs. "Ah man... that could have really opened up my repertoire. Oh, and I suppose technically 'Apple' is an adjective here. It's technically describing the pie... I can't do adjectives."

"Why not?" I ask.

"I... don't know, honestly." She shakes her head.

"Hey... stop bothering Levy with all these questions..." One of the boys states.

"I am enjoying this conversation, thank you." The girl frowns. "It's fun to brainstorm ideas with my magic, Droy. Merlin here is just being friendly."

She turns to look back at me. "I wish I could use adjectives. That probably be even more useful than my solid script as it is now! The word 'Explosive' comes to mind. Or 'Strengthened'."

"Technically speaking, isn't 'Explosive' a noun as well as an Adjective?"

"It is." The girl nods.

"So reasonably, it might be a bridge to learning adjectives or- oh wait! Here's an idea! What if you try writing two things at the same time? One with each hand? Then you slam them together moments before the spell completes? It would take considerable hand-eye coordination and perfect timing, your issue might come from your spells 'auto-completing' after you get a suitable word. If you combine the two words before the spell completes, reasonably they might combine, right?"

"That is... huh." The girl mutters. "Reasonably... even if it doesn't combine, it'd be useful to figure out how to write numerous words at once. Thank you Merlin! That's a wonderful idea! I'll get on that as soon as I get back to the guild hall!"

She seems overjoyed to find an avenue progression for her magic.

"What about you? What magic do you practice, Merlin?"

"Oh... well, I don't exactly have a set type right now. I can heal."

"You have healing magic?! That's incredible!" She gasps.

"It's not exactly... healing magic per-say. It's a healing spell. There's a distinction to that."

"How so?" She asks.

"Hm... well... let's compare it to Natsu. He has Fire Dragon Slayer magic. A lot of it. Roars, punches, wings, and all that good stuff... my healing magic is a 'spell'. Thus, it's like Natsu's Fire Dragon Iron Fist. It's very... limited... he can turn around and unleash a wave of flame with a roar, but, I'd just be stuck with the fist because that's all I know."

"Oh! I see. So it heals only one type of wound, right?"

"Yeah. It'd do nothing to poison or anything like that." I nod slowly. "Beyond those two spells that accelerate the healing rate of the body, I've got a few fire attack spells, then 'enhancement' spells.

"Enhancement?"

I gaze forwards, seeing a building in the far distance.

"Yep. We're probably close enough for me to do this now." I begin as I place a hand on my chest. I focus for a moment. "Armor."

A little spectral armor flickers to life around me.

"Would you like some?"

"Uh... sure?"

I place a hand on her shoulder. "Armor."

The Mage Armor flickers to life around her, causing her to look down at her hands. "Huh. This is pretty interesting. I don't feel any weight at all. Nor is it getting in the way of my movements."

She pokes her stomach. "How long does this last?"

"About three hours."

"Three hours?!"

"It'll get longer as I get stronger, though." I admit.

My gaze strays around to Lucy, and the two boys who are glaring at me jealously. "Anyone else want some?"

"A real man needs no armor!" The cat in the hat guy exclaims.

"We don't need any handouts." The other one with hair that sticks up like a whale's tail proclaims.

"I-I'd like some." Lucy raises her hand.

"Here. Armor.'

The spectral armor appears around her body, just like Levy and myself.

"Oh, and Lucy, I picked up requip magic recently. You should consider learning it."

"Huh? Why?" The blonde girl blinks

"Oh! He has a point." Levy agrees. "As a holder wizard, your greatest weakness is that you can't use magic without your keys. If someone were to take them from you, you'd be defenseless."

"Then... I'll just make sure nobody can take them!" Lucy glares.

"Which is why you get requip magic... so you can keep them safe in an extradimensional storage. Hell, even if you don't want to keep your keys there, it's useful for other things. You can store changes of clothes, food, supplies, money. Even a basic understanding could be a helpful location to keep your valuables."

"Mhm. It's pretty easy to learn a basic understanding as well. I keep my Gale Force reading glasses and some books in my own Requip space."

"Rune Knights. Form up. Shields in front." I hear Lahar call. "They know we are here!"

In the distance I can see large stone walls slowly sprout up from the ground, fortifying the creepy guild hall.

I look to the key ring on Lucy's hip.

'lets see here. Aquarius is out. No water. Too far out for Tauros and Cancer... oh, she has Virgo?'

"Lucy. Virgo can dig through the earth, right?"

"Yeah? Wait... how did you know that?"

"My sight can see the magic of the keys like I could with Lullaby." I admit. "Now. Do you think you could have Virgo burrow and utterly destroy the foundations of the building."

A force field seems to appear in front of us thanks to the rune knights linking their shields. An enchantment seems to go off.

"Lahar." I begin. "Lucy has a celestial spirit of burrowing. Would you like us to destroy the foundations of the guild hall completely?"

"We are at a disadvantaged position." He admits as he turns to Lucy. "They have fortified their guild hall. It would be a great help if you managed to flush them out."

"Y-Yes!" Lucy nods quietly as she grabs her key ring. "Open! Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!"

Ding-Dong

The sound of a doorbell rings out and suddenly there's a really attractive pink-haired maid here.

"Greetings Princess. Are you going to punish me?" She questions.

"No time for your weird fetishes, Virgo. I need you to destroy the foundations of that building over there."

"Hm. It will take a minute or two, but I should be able to easily manage... I will return!"

She jumps slightly, then as she lands on the ground with a slight spin a large hole is carved in her wake with a noise akin to a jackhammer.

Spells seem to wash over the large barrier as my fairy tail friends shift around.

Erza stands there with her arms crossed, waiting.

She heard my plan to Lucy and reined in Natsu and Gray. Forcing them to hang back despite desperately wanting to leap in and fight to their heart's content.

According to the briefing. There's two wizards to worry about in that guild hall. The first, being Erigor the reaper. An extremely powerful wind mage.

The next, would be the guild master. An earth wizard. I assume he was the one who put up those fortifications.

Erigor is supposedly the strongest wizard in the guild. He just didn't want to deal with the paperwork of being Guild Master.

I watch the building tilt and begin to crumble.

"GO!" Erza demands.

"Close." Lucy whispers. "Open: Gate of the Golden Bull! Tauros!"

Ding-Dong

I watch the fairy tail wizards rush forwards.

Even Jet, Levy and Droy.

I look to Lahar. "Do you think it would be more beneficial to remain back here to heal any rune knights that get injured or go ahead with the rest of the group?"

"I-"

FWOOSH

A gigantic tornado seems to descend from the sky, trapping everyone inside, those close to the edges are picked up and hurled by the sheer force of the wind.

Floating in the sky, held aloft by wind magic is a sole man.

Ah.

Shit.

"I think we're going to have to kill this guy, Lahar."

"Damn it." He sighs as I crouch down. "I... would like to bring this fiend to face justice. But... I fear that at this rate... it might be unavoidable..."

'this is looking like one of those 'cat missile' scenarios.'

My familiar hops out of my bag as I place my hand on him.

Familiars can be treated as yourself for 'Personal' spells.

Such as...

Little white angelic wings appear on my horned cat's back.

Aera

Oh damn...

I actually have my own 'Happy'.

Huh.

I requip a single object, placing it in his jaws and do one further thing.

At third level, familiars gain the ability to deliver 'touch' spells for the caster. Like the one I just imbued it with.

He takes off in a sprint as I stand back up, scurrying between the legs of the rune knights as Erigor seems to gloat. "Oh how the magic council has fallen. Don't tell me you seriously thought you nonmagicals could ever take on the might of a wizard guild, did you?!"

It appears I need to play distraction.

"Oi!" I call up. "You're pathetic, you know that, right? I mean, really. You waited until AFTER Erza and the other wizards left to spring your little trap? You're a fucking coward! But I guess that's all you dark wizards are. Cowards. You're all too afraid for honest competition so you have to resort to doing crimes to feel good about your meager, insignificant existences."

In the distance I can see it.

A little fluttering figure.

"You. You're the first to die." The white haired man lowly growls.

He holds out a hand- only to turn suddenly, looking towards the thing flying at his back in confusion.

A flaming paw crashes into the necklace held in the horned cat's jaws.

Then...

The sky is bright.

Erigor is shot downwards, body smoking.

It appeared he had softened the blow with his wind magic, but he doesn't look well-off. One of his arms are charred, his hair is almost entirely burned off, his eyes appear hazy.

They gain clarity a moment later.

"I'll- I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!" He roars as he spirals downwards, seemingly not in the right mind. Body flooded with adrenaline.

It looks like he can't even control his body properly. The tornado around us abruptly vanishes, visible wind churning around his arm as he falls downwards.

I clench my fists and wait...

And wait.

Then at the last moment, I strike forwards, stepping to the side.

Fire explodes around my hand as I dump the remaining magical power I have into this final punch. "FIRE DRAGON..."

An achievement has been unlocked.

My hand slams into the man's face, I can feel his bones creak underneath my knuckles, his nose snapping, a tooth being knocked free. "IRON FIST!"

He smashes into the ground just a short five feet away, wind being knocked from his lips.

Numerous men who have gotten their bearings, regaining their courage rush forwards, lifting halberds above their heads.

They swing them down at the prone wizard.

"HEAVY!" They all call out.

Erigor is pushed into the floor by the flat sides of the halberds, seemingly being enchanted to increase their weight on demand.

Other men rush forwards, two slamming large metal rings around the wizard's forearm.

"Lock!" They declare in unison as the halberd carrying knights raise their weapons.

The rings glow, Erigors arms being bent behind his back.

Lahar looks over the wind wizard as one of the knights loops their halberd around the man's cuffs, lifting him off the ground and forcing him to a kneeling position.

"Should I heal him?"

"Yes." Lahar nods. "Heal him then tend to the wounded. He is in critical condition, but... it appears he just might make it to his trial."

I swing the wand downwards. "Healing Ruby."

A beam of red strikes the wizard, his burns lessening at a fairly rapid pace.

I do it twice more, which seems to stablize him as he is shoved face-first into the dirt.

With that, I turn and quickly make my way around the group of knights.

"Is anyone injured?!" I call out as I rush back and forth, wand in hand.

~~Linebreak~~

Well.

The magic council certainly compensated us well.

The mission they submitted was for a nice crisp two-million jewel.

Thus, split eight ways, we each made a quarter of a million.

That's more than two months worth of rent! Fuck yeah!

Of course, around thirty thousand of it went to getting the materials to revive Cath- I finally named him. He's 'Cath Palug' now-, but that's neither here nor there.

Oh...

And that's not even the best thing.

Firstly, I copied Natsu's magic a while back.

Definitely useful. I wouldn't have been able to accomplish Cat Missile without it!

But at the same time... It gave me an achievement!

Even without the achievement, getting Fire Dragon's Iron Fist was TOTALLY fucking worth it.

Like... the spell is overpowered. Flat out.

Fire Dragon Slayer Magic: Fire Dragon's Iron Fist
Spell Level: 1
Casting Time: Standard Action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature or object touched
Duration: Instantanious
Saving throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

You tap into the power of a dragon to deal tremendous damage. Your successful melee touch attack deals 1d8+2 points of fire damage per caster level (maximum 5d8+10)

Overcharge: For each additional MP you spend on this spell, you deal an additional 2d8+4 Damage

It's a supercharged shocking grasp.

Even better, thanks to my Black Magery, my damaging spells deal an extra dice of damage... but for something with multiple attacks, it only applies to one, sadly.

The achievement was really good, though.

Second-Rate {Fire} Dragon:
So. You've managed to learn Dragon Slayer magic. Huh. That should realistically be impossible without implanting a lacrima in your body... and the survival rate for that isn't exactly one hundred percent. Regardless. You deserve a reward for your sheer balls. Don't use slayer magic too much, now. You wouldn't want to turn into a dragon, now would you?

Reward: +10 Maximum Mp

It was JUST what I needed right now.

More mana.

Though, I do have quite a surplus of magical energy thanks to leveling up a couple of times.

Defeat Eisenwald:
The Eisenwald guild has gone too far. The attempted assassination of numerous guild masters is nothing short of a declaration of war! Lahar has come to Fairy Tail in order to gather a few wizards to assist in the takedown of this fiendish dark guild.

Objectives:
Assist Lahar and the Rune Knights: [x]

Bonus Objectives:
Defeat an Eisenwald Wizard: [x]
Defeat Erigor The Reaper: [x]
Singlehandedly defeat the entire guild: [-]

Rewards: 5000 Experience

Bonus Reward 1: 4000 Experience, One random Item worth up to 36000 Gp

Bonus Reward 2: 25,000 Experience, One random 'Special Quality' (Special Quality Generated: Freelance Hireling).

Freelance Hireling:
You are granted a quality similar to that of the Freelancer Class, however, you're not quite as well-trained as they are.

You are granted a number of 'Freelance Points' which you can use to grant yourself class features of other classes. However, you are quite limited. Instead of 60 points at level one and 30 per level, you are instead given 10 points at level one and 5 every level.

Note: You are treated as 'Level One' until the next time you level up, allowing you to modify your base class statistics such as your BAB, Hitdie, and even give yourself Additional Limit Breakers.

Note: This special quality does not lock you out of prestige classes despite the Freelancer class doing so.

At this very moment... I have thirty five 'freelance' points because with all this experience, I jumped from nearing level four all the way up to a little over half-way to level seven.

I have a few options.

Being 'level one' allows me to modify base attack bonus or give me more health.

I can make it so I can get 'good' progression for my saving throws.

I do notably get one additional limit break which I can grab from any class... plus I could grab more for ten points.

Or.

I could get sneak-attack.

The issue with that is that it'd take ALL of my points. Literally every time I got ten points, Sneak attack would upgrade, thus take them away.

Hell, it'd be worse than a normal rogue's sneak attack of my level by an entire D-six.

There's just so many options.

Well, first, let's look at limit breaks. I get one free, after all.

I had given this a little thought, and, well...

Devil Trigger (Su): This Limit Break transforms the demon hunter into a Demon, replacing his type with Outsider (Native). For a duration of 1 round + 1 round per four warrior levels after 1st, the demon hunter gains a +1 profane bonus to attack and damage rolls plus an additional +1 per four warrior levels after 1st, he also gains 1 Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning, and Water resistance plus an additional 1 per two warrior levels after 1st. While in this form, the demon hunter gains darkvision (60 feet) and a fly speed of 30 feet (Average maneuverability). This limit break requires only a swift action.

I wanted a super form...

Yes. That's Devil May Cry's Devil Trigger.

There's a warrior Archtype for that.

It even has the 'SSS' combat ranking system built in it.

I-

Limit Break Synergizes with Host body's history. 'Devil Trigger' limit break extended from 1 Round + 1 Round per four Warrior levels to 1 Minute + 1 Minute per four Warrior levels.

H-Huh?

Well that is interesting.
