My dad started working at Fenway as a teenager starting in Ted Williams’ last year, throughout the 60s, until 1966. He watched the brutal Yankees lineup walk past him into the park and mow them down year after year. He called the years after Williams left the “salad days” meaning, boring AF and hard to fill seats (and therefore hard to make money on tips as the peanut guy in the stands), Thank God for guys like Spaceman finally reinjecting some badly needed LIFE into that club, good Lord.

As a western Massachusetts native, I never would’ve put together the Cliff Claven thing, so thank you, Dave! I’m too young to know most of this story but I do know the Pudgy Fisk lore ❤️
