Thanks for answering my dumb questions! I appreciate what you said about the Young Turks — you said it much better than I could. I like Jon and Jayar, but… Cenk. Ugh, that guy. I saw some alt-right asshole try to make some bullshit false equivalency on Twitter (akin to my horrible father saying that he’s a “feminist” because his “heroes” are women: Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, and Kim Komando, some random computer expert; not actually a piece of shit, unlike the other two… but, great guy he is, definitely the first man I think of when someone says “feminist”) saying that the Young Turks are 💯 worth discounting because of this horrendous clip (from god knows when) about bestiality and how it’s OK to “pleasure” animals. twitter.com/receiptmaven/status/1199452886838792192 (Now we find out if garbage Patreon disallows hyperlinks the way that Instagram does; wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest). When I saw that video for the first time, I was just like, ho-ly shit, this is real? I thought for sure that they must have posted it in a decontextualized way because it was fall of 2020, so shit was going bananas 💯 and I’m pretty sure that a totally different Twitter person paired that video when I first saw it, but holy fucking shit. He just really needed to stop talking like 25 years ago.
