Hey guys! Was replaying the Megaman Zero/ZX collection recently so I’ve got a Megaman focused question for Ian. Both Megaman Zero and Shadow the Hedgehog have very similar character arcs where they are forced to confront difficult past but of the two I find Zeros to be more emotionally satisfying. Ian, what is your take on Zero’s overall character arc and (if you can) elaborate on what ways you would flesh it out/improve on existing material?

I have noticed a LOT of people mistaking Dr Starline for a duck, despite the fact he's a platypus. That makes me wonder...how would Starline react if ALL the other Sonic characters within the book ALSO constantly mistook him for a duck? What would he do?

To Ian, what would the Sonic characters’ blood type be? The only character with a confirmed blood type is Eggman, which is B. My personal guesses for the other characters based on their personalities would be A for Sonic, Espio, Antoine, and Blaze, B for Amy, Knuckles, Vector, Charmy, Bunnie, Rouge, and Big, AB for Shadow and Sticks, and finally O for Tails, Sally, Rotor, Marine, and Silver. Although I often change my mind and imagine Shadow’s would-be O- because I read online that people with O- blood can donate to all blood types, and the whole purpose of his creation was to make a cure for people with NIDS. What do you think?

Drogune! Your own wholy original story, not related to any pre existing intellectual property. What inspired you to write it? And how much "story" do you already have planned out? When I write something, I usually have the ending planned out ahead of time. Do you look at a story the same way, or do you just write until the writing is done and figure it out along the way?

Have you ever written anything using the classic Stan Lee "Marvel Method" of doing a basic story breakdown, letting the artist determine the pages and layouts and acting following the basic breakdown you did, and then writing the dialogue yourself? If not, is that a process that would interest you, if done in the ideal circumstances (with an artist you know and are used to collaborating to, etc)?

Hi Ian, If an artist wants to try getting into the comics industry as a freelancer, what is the usual process for getting their art to the right people? I have looked around a few publisher's sites like IDW, but I was unable to find any public applications for Freelance gigs

I’ve often thought that Sega should experiment with more interesting pairings of their characters than just the Sonic, Tails, and Eggman dynamic that they’ve used for so many games now. Like the macguffin of a game somehow becoming tied to Big, making it so that Sonic, who loves going fast, must now contend with keeping the slowest character out of Eggman’s clutches. Or something like what we’re currently seeing in IDW with Rouge’s criminal experience being paired with Cream’s innocence. What pairings do you think Sega should use in the future? Are there any pairings we’ve seen a lot of already that you’d like to see a different take on?

[...]a couple of characters have been seen to be, rather taken, with the good doctor: Egg Boss Thunderbolt and Wendy Witchcart. Now, specifically in the case of the former, was this intentional from the outset or was it something you picked up on from the fans? I.e. Did you notice how many people in the fandom 'shipped' TB and Eggman given her loyalty and so you decided to throw them a bone by playing it up further? In regards to the latter, is Wendy actually an admirer of Eggman, or was she merely flirting and the fans, as they are want to do, simply over-reacted to something that was intended as just a panel gag and nothing else?
