What's up, homies! We're back with another reaction to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. As we mentioned in the reactions for She-Hulk, Hector will be gone for the next couple of weeks, so Adam and Agustin are two peas in a pod until then. All we'll say is protect Durin at all costs, because he's too dang precious.

Check back for more reactions for The Boys, Superman & Lois, and more in the coming days!

WOW what an episode. I’ve been really enjoying this show so far but I feel like the entire thing will be elevated by these last few episodes. This one was so good and to see how things are coming together has been very fun to watch. Especially with you guys! And yes, Durin is the best

Elendil and Isildur did exist at the same time. They were both at the battle at Mt. Doom where Elendil and Gil-Galad died.

Count Monte-Cristo

What special event? Are you going to get naked live or what?

Philip Smith

Great episode. Love the pacing to get us to this point, with every strand of the tale being given the time it needs to develop. Love your reaction, and yes, Durin is the best. But coming up close behind are Disa, Elrond and Arondir.

this show is GORGEOUS

The song in the intro actually made me cry. This is exactly the way I pictured the world of LOTR to be. Reading the songs in the hobbit, reading the silmarillion. This is finally the episode to bring the fantasy alive. [Also dwarves are always the best race in any fantasy world]

Slow buildup, sort of. But the pacing will be really good when this season is completed and the characters all feel very lived in by now.

I so want Halbrand to be the King of the Army of the Dead - it would really fit the lore as it is said that the men of the mountain once served/worshipped Morgoth and then allied themselves with Gondor, only to refuse to fight for either side when called upon during the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. Either that or a Nazgul, but I do not think Sauron. This show is really starting to pick up and I love it . Totally enjoying watching it with you guys.

So much of this show feels like Middle-Earth. The writers of the dialogue have absolutely captured the spirit of LOTR. A fantastic episode and I'm really curious to see who everyone ends up being.

Philip Smith

I so 'ship Durond, or Elrin, I'm 66,I know nothing about these terms. Educate me!

This may be my favorite reaction so far, so honest, so intelligent, so true. I can subscribe to all of your comments 100%. Fantastic episode, I'm totally hooked and the show will get its tribute and recognition no matter how much "kids" are out there waiting for anything childish. As a musician I have to repeat myself: the score is really incredibly beautiful and powerful, just insane. Favorite character? Actually all of them, but I have to give way to the phenomenal Morfidd, stunning in every scene... And yes, the dialogues are totally on spot. So much care and love for every single detail.

2023-04-28 21:04:09 Are we sure that the Southlands story w/ Adar & the tower & Theo isn't Halbrand's backstory? When Halbrand was talking w/ Galadriel and he spoke about once aligning with the Orcs and the show went to Waldreg's pledge of fealty, are we sure that Halbrand wasn't a boy among that group?

I feel like things are finally rollin'. This episode was the best paced of the series so far. The dialog between characters has improved as well. Durin and Elrond scenes are gold! The whole "who is Sauron?" mystery is maddening. Every episode I completely change my mind! Somehow I think the answer will come out of left field. All these characters that were created for the show are fair game. For all we know it could be a Harfoot! Whatever happens it is sure to piss off the hardcore lore gatekeepers. I am tired of them. I only know (and love) the movies. I just want to enjoy watching the show without the nay-saying! Having fun doing my rewatchs with the H.R. crew! Keep up the good work guys!

I particularly love how in this episode we see how music is used across all the races. The dwarves with their hymns to the rock, the harfoots with their folk songs, the Elves with their legends told through song, and men with their drinking songs and war drums. We even saw Orcs chanting this episode. It really highlights what Agustin was talking about with the opening credits, and just how important music is to this world—literally, figuratively and even cosmically. Wonderful storytelling.

That song was beautiful. I loved it. I wonder if Gil-Gelad is lying about the mithril, or is making a mistake, Elrond said the story was not believed by everyone. I more believe the corruption was a warning, and them sending away their warriors is what led to more of the corruption then anything else.

Durin and Elrond are definitely the most enjoyable part of this show.

I haven't watched 1x6 yet so idk if anything else was revealed, but in the first episode when Galadriel was taken off duty, word spread to the other elves and Arondir was notified. So unless those timelines GREATLY split without telling us, this should all be happening at the same time.

The tree/balrog scene reminded me SO MUCH of the Aries origin scene in Wonder Woman.

That song was so beautiful, Definitely going to be listening to it for the forseeable future. Also, if the mithril mine is the same place where the "dwarves dug too deep and too greedily", I think it's really cool that the writers have decided to take a more nuanced approach to it and include the elves in that scenario. And building the friendship between Durin and Eldrond into it was such a great choice on their part.
