Oh man this episode was just amazing. Excellent storytelling using editing with the switching back and forth in time. And that score.. chefs kiss. So good, can't wait for the next episode.

Loved the episode. The tension and musical build up were fantastic. I do disagree with Hector about the Deputy Inspector getting people killed for ego. We don't know enough about him, but from his perspective two men were murdered and everywhere he looks nobody cares. I feel like our preconceptions about who is good and bad may be affecting our perspective on the actions the characters are taking. Love your reactions.

THATS AUNT PETUNIA FROM HARRY POTTER. Sorry, that was the first thing that came to mind.

Hidde Heikoop

The music is really what stands out here. Love these first three episodes already.

Ok, this episode is what pulled me in. I wasn't too excited about this series before because I'm tired of getting things that are bookended by things we know already happen, but it's very well done so far. We'll see where they go from here.

mya!

i also cant wait to cry even harder to rogue one after this series. feeling seen

i loved this episode the most out the three we got. during the re-release of rogue one that scene of cassian/luther in the warehouse was the sneak peek and man just that scene alone had me on the edge of my seat in the theater. so cool how it ties into the whole story now. im hoping for either a galen erso mention or cameo but i miss my boi mads mikkelsen in the star wars universe, i hope we get more of him in some capacity. cant wait for the next ep ahhhh

They've accomplished something pretty difficult with this show - it's feels different than pretty much every other Star Wars property except Rogue One, but it still feels like Star Wars. My expectations for anything Star Wars is pretty low at this point, so this show has exceeded them by quite a lot.

Roman Penna

The first three episode worked amazing together, great set up and extremely different to everything else in Star Wars which I love!

Lots of fucking around and finding out in this series, starting with the guys trying to shakedown Cassian in the first episode, right up to Karn disobeying the order to let it go and getting a huge number of his men killed. To say nothing of Timm-with-two-Ms.

Jay McFly

I dunno if it's just ego with Karn. I feel like it's more about incompetence and false perception of self. His superior asked him in the first epiaode if he had altered his uniform and he said yes and that's all you need to know about that character right there. He is one of those guys that modifies his uniform! He clearly sees himself as a superior officer but as we see when he addresses his troops he really lacks the skills. And at the end of episode 3 he simply cannot understand how shit got out of hand so badly. He's in big trouble now and I bet this will be the characters motivator to hunt Cassian. Karn will remember that name and jump on any chance to get back at him.

I know this story is about Andor and the rebellion, but I'm fascinated by Karn's baby steps into fascism. In 1x1 he's an idealist with an inner sense of purpose with nowhere to go (yet), who looks at the chaos of the world and seeks control. Andor, in contrast, sees the chaos of the world and seeks freedom - and slowly over eps 1-3, he inadvertently catapults Karn from a burgeoning fascist to a Diehard Believer. The mirror of how these two men had one chance encounter propelling them to lead opposing sides (and, presumably, dedicating everything to stopping one another), is pure Star Wars.

Remus

Karn seems to be a character who has a rigid belief in rules, regulations and laws even if they are unjust. Instead of admitting to himself that he screwed up by overstepping his authority, he'll likely place all the blame for the fiasco on the lawbreaker (i.e. Andor). It's doubtful he'll ever acknowledge his own weakesses and limitations.

I think looking at Karn and how his 'chance encounter' with Andor is what "leads" him into this fascist arc/role is idk the word(naive maybe.) Idk how anyone can look at Karn and not see that he was heading down this path whether Andor was there or not. It would've just been another 'incident' that 'lead' him to fascism. You'd have to go back a lot further than what we've seen thus far to see where he got here. Likely his environment growing up and the things that 'lead' him to join the post he's in.
